New Charger-related recall (for the 240 V cable) (NHTSA ID 23V-841)

All, I contacted Porsche NA to ask about eligible chargers to qualify for $600 rebate. They sent me this document. Tesla Universal Charger not explicity listed so who knows if they will reimburse for it.

A few photos of my Taycan ST GTS - Lowered with Spacers, and a few other Mods

are you concerned with bottoming out? I found using the car's presets for chassis height that I was bottoming out so often on "lower" that I have to keep the car raised above its lowest setting. And the feature to store and remember hazardous inclines in my neighborhood doesn't guarantee that...

New Charger-related recall (for the 240 V cable) (NHTSA ID 23V-841)

That's a valid concern. I am reaching my dealer to see if I can get something in writing regarding the Tesla option. I was planning to hold the unit until I received the reimbursement check anyway. My suspicion was that "$600" was the chosen reimbursement level because Tesla and its...

New Charger-related recall (for the 240 V cable) (NHTSA ID 23V-841)

No disrespect intended to dealerships, I love mine, but there is often lag-time between when we learn of problems and when they learn of solutions. I wish they would monitor this forum, they would be more often on the same page with us. I also believe they'd be reluctant to recommend...

New Charger-related recall (for the 240 V cable) (NHTSA ID 23V-841)

I'd be AMAZED if the dealerships have any decent advice on this matter. Anyway, I am planning to proceed with the @daveo4EV solution described in great detail above (and on other threads that he - or it - visits). Hope others will do the same that we can compare notes here.

New Charger-related recall (for the 240 V cable) (NHTSA ID 23V-841)

Sorry but out of an abundance of caution, would you mind to send a pic of this charger already installed against the wall with the NEMA plug shown in an outlet? Like the pic I posted earlier? Maybe you've done that and I missed it, but I've become an avid reader of your posts and pray to god...

[North American] - In case you're curious - Tesla Gen3 Wall Chargers EVSE Powersharing Setup

It was difficult to image all this until I re-read it. In my case, I am considering to install the Tesla Universal charger (which you know by now as you've answered most of my questions about it). Meanwhile my wife has the Tesla charger for her model 3 on the other side. I was thinking that...

Best home charger for the Taycan?

check your mail or talk to your dealer. I am down the street from you. its been known for some time that Porsche's charging solutions are defective. I got the service notice yesterday that they are now capitulating and replacing them.

[North American] - In case you're curious - Tesla Gen3 Wall Chargers EVSE Powersharing Setup

@daveo4EV as you see elsewhere I am considering your approach to installing the Tesla Universal Charger. I have my wife's Tesla on the other side of the garage with a dedicated charger. Clear on the other side is my charger. Can I benefit from this universal setup to have it charge both...

New Charger-related recall (for the 240 V cable) (NHTSA ID 23V-841)

You've sold me on this little DIY project (btw we have a Tesla charger on the other side of my garage servicing my wife's Model 3). But if you look at the pic of my charger, I really only need a NEMA cord of maybe a couple feet, not 5 and certainly not 10. Unless, as usual...I am missing...

New Charger-related recall (for the 240 V cable) (NHTSA ID 23V-841)

@daveo4EV thanks so much for the service you are providing the rest of us. I think I can handle it, but I will do a few things first: 1. Make sure my car is charged to 100% 2. Read all your posts related to this install 3. Put you on speed-dial. Oh shit that's not an option. Refer...

New Charger-related recall (for the 240 V cable) (NHTSA ID 23V-841)

This is my current setup which I already reduced to 50% power per the most recent advisory. I am pretty handy with a hammer, drill etc but I am an idiot when it comes to electricity (the NEMA outlet was installed by an electrician who also upgraded our panel). So while I could easily install...
