All due respect to current owners, the advice you receive from any of us is likely to be biased.
RWD owners will want to defend their choice, and the turbo owners will reciprocate.
If there are sensible arguments offered, then I hope that will help in your decision.
For me, it came down to...
I also have Neptune Blue, which for me was a no-brainer when I saw it. My 911 was gentian blue so didn't want to repeat that. I'm at 2 years + 5 months and 25K miles on my MY22 RWD. Replaced only the back tires so far. Apart from recalls and the 2 yr service, it hasn't needed anything else...
I sent this post to my service guy as they installed the new heater. When I came back, he took me into the showroom and fitted me with a nice Porsche pullover and coffee mug, over $200 in merch. Thanks for the tip!
It's interesting because none of these were considerations for me when sizing up the Taycan. We have a Model 3 already, but for me it's the driving experience that mattered most. We charge each car in our garage overnight so the issues around charging are largely irrelevant to us. And other...
I miss my 911S Cab ever day! They say there are 2 times you are happy as a boat owner:: The day you buy it and the day you sell it. A 911, on the other hand you will love every day you own it. But be careful, while you are sleeping, it's in the garage plotting to get you in serious trouble...
I don't care for a prestige badge but I did buy a magnetic oval sticker to show that I'm with the USCG auxiliary and I thought to put on my trunk when Im on official business. I was surprised there are no magnetic surfaces on the exterior of the car anywhere. What's with that?
I'll take your word for it, but someone could start a whole new thread on that debate (but it won't be me!).
However I was driving an auto enthusiast in my 911 some time ago and when downshifting at a fairly high speed and he said "that's really not good for the engine." I said I did it to...
When I had my 911S I'd often downshift when approaching traffic to slow the car. I was told this may not be good for the engine but it became a reflexive motion for me after a decade of driving the same car. The auto-regen has a similar feeling when it kicks in. I'm addicted to it.
so….it depends! I feel a lot more knowledgeable now, though no more certain!
I attended a funeral across country last year and the rental agency gave me a new Mercedes EV (not the economy car I ordered). After the ceremony we drove "caravan style" to a restaurant. It was a long drive down an...
I've been wondering about this for some time, like every time I get on the freeway these past 2 years. I use the auto-regen religiously and it does 90% of the work for me during bumper-to-bumper traffic. So I wonder, does the guy behind me realize I am slowing down?
I drove a similar (997 911S Cabriolet) for nearly 12 years and sold it for a bit less than what I paid originally. How many "six figure" cars can you drive 12 years for free? Only a 911!
