My 2020 Taycan can be left alone for at least 4 weeks.
I've even heard a few months.
It's just supposed to work that way.
So either you don't have all the updates or there's another problem.
@Scandinavian, you could've asked me to post it here instead of telling me why you don't go on social media.
No one cares.
Anyway:
Although you don't seem to be very receptive for my explanation, do you now see where I was referring to?

Exactly my point.
We're talking about the life span of the 12V battery, not that one occasion that the 12V battery isn't charged and has been drained.
You are talking about the BMS of the car.
I'm talking about the BMS of the battery.
It has its own BMS and if you get below a certain voltage it's impossible to charge again.
Way before that happens, the car's BMS has taken action, like you described (IF all works like it should).
I know it's expensive to replace (I heard ~$1200) but they should last much longer than ordinary 12V batteries.
They are relatively small and don't suffer from high current loads.
Mine is about 6 years old, is still at the right voltage (13,4V) and works flawlessly, I don't see it's constantly...
I do my own tires cuz I'm getting sick of dealers and auto shops damaging my rims.
So, one day I was in a silly mood and decided to buy TPMS sensors off AliExpress, €27 total.
Installed them and they work.
Just lol. 🤪
I think you misunderstood.
The foam is temporarily there for protection and to absorb the impact of a rock/stones (at daylight).
When you actually need night vision (at night) you just simply take the foam off.
Right, that's what I meant.
FYI: the pedestrian/animal detection is always on (although not highlighted in yellow during the day)
I once got crossed with a pedestrian at daylight and the car immediately reacted and initiated an emergency stop and showed the pedestrian in red in the night vision...
That's an extremely good repair as the ∆V = 0,01V!!
You can check with a lower SoC so see if the ∆V gets a little higher which is normal as well.
SoH: nothing to worry about cuz degradation is always higher at the first kms, after that it kinda stabilizes.
So it's looking very good! 🥳
If you want to lower the risk of breaking/damaging the glass you can cover it with a foam pad or similar when not in use in daylight.
NOTE:
The camera isn't available in daylight anyway (BUT the camera is still working as a safety feature and anti-collision device for people/animals).
I think it's a very personal choice.
It was kinda of a trend in the car scene that people debadged expensive models to avoid getting stolen (this didn't work in my country (NL) cuz you can determine the model by the license plate).
So, after a while people with standard models decided to remove...
Sometimes it takes a while.
When I put new wheels on my car I drove 20 km without any result.
The next day they were active and start reading the pressure when I took it out for another drive.
After that all was ok.
I can't imagine a more beautiful 3D material than carbon fiber.
The sheer regularity of the fibers in the shapes is simply stunning, something you won't find in any other material.
You could call it cosmetic, but so is the Mona Lisa. 😉
