Electric Sport Sound option - should you get it?

For people who don't know how the speaker and boom box looks like: This was when I took off the bumper to add fins to my diffusor. Btw, you can enhance the sound inside the car by putting down the rear seats. 🤓

Electric Sport Sound option - should you get it?

When I ordered the car in 2019 the standard logo was "Turbo S" which I didn't like but there was no option to change it. Right before I had to close the final order a new option became available: the Porsche crest. So I took that one.

Electric Sport Sound option - should you get it?

Nice tip! Yes, I have Bose. Yup!! I also have the braided oil lines from RB (massive amount of work!). And I upgraded the interior too, I also added a tablet. Torque app with RacingMeter add-on 🥰

[CONFIRMED&DANGEROUS] 9J1.2 LETS YOU DRIVE WITH POOR ISOLATION AS WELL

I believe you but I can't find any article that says it's a 2025 model. I've been searching for articles cuz this incident happing to a 2025 model would be of a major concern (along with your findings of course). Article 4 (in Englisch this time).

Maybe standard routine for the recall campaign which also started in 2023?

Electric Sport Sound option - should you get it?

I know exactly what you mean. 😉 Nothing beats a rotary engine at 9500rpm! Still have it (2004 110.000km, original engine, runs great, AC Delco D585 coils, Racing Beat upgrades) On topic: I have my Sport Sound on all of the time. Some say it's fake but it's actually rpm-based but subtle...

🤣😂 Yes, I don't like vaporised copper either but at least it didn't catch fire.

[CONFIRMED&DANGEROUS] 9J1.2 LETS YOU DRIVE WITH POOR ISOLATION AS WELL

I meant they got the yellow/red warning when a short circuit was detected. That why they were brought to you in the first place, right? My point is that they didn't catch fire, that's what everyone's afraid of according to previous replies. Not to condone the issues but still...

But with build in fire suppression! Kidding aside, from all the batteries where you found water/coolant they didn't burn down but made it to your shop. They shut down, like they should, right?

337,000 km (209k miles) in J1.1 Taycan - long term review

Imagining the fuel cost if it was an ice. For that kind of money you could buy the whole brand of Dacia! PS In 2019 you got a 2-year free charge with the car.

[CONFIRMED&DANGEROUS] 9J1.2 LETS YOU DRIVE WITH POOR ISOLATION AS WELL

I don't think this is a common thing. These battery cases are being pressure-tested and only a few don't qualify through QC and the only one that somehow managed to get through while it shouldn't ends up here in this topic. 😉

Me too. I can't recall who said that though but he's on this forum as well.

[CONFIRMED&DANGEROUS] 9J1.2 LETS YOU DRIVE WITH POOR ISOLATION AS WELL

That that little amount of coolant can cause a short circuit but if that amount was rain/fresh water it wouldn't. Big difference imho.

[CONFIRMED&DANGEROUS] 9J1.2 LETS YOU DRIVE WITH POOR ISOLATION AS WELL

Yes it does. If there's no or minor change in isolation value (due to low conductivity) there will be no detection. I know what you mean by ignoring the readings but there's a difference this time. Low conductivity = no change in isolation value (within the envelope that is). Higher...

[CONFIRMED&DANGEROUS] 9J1.2 LETS YOU DRIVE WITH POOR ISOLATION AS WELL

I don't understand why there was no coolant leakage detection warning as Cris is talking about a significant loss of coolant. Any comment to that @ct14garage ?

[CONFIRMED&DANGEROUS] 9J1.2 LETS YOU DRIVE WITH POOR ISOLATION AS WELL

Rain water or fresh water have low conductivity (1-50 µS/cm) so an actual short circuit or detecting it would take much longer than ingress of traditional coolant which is 3.000 µS/cm to 5.000 µS/cm. With the growth of the number of EV's nowadays there should be a more suitable coolant...

Charging doesn't stop to the 80% limit set.

Yes. There is/was a bug in the charging planner. If you don't reset it, it'll become unreliable. That's why I said to remove all timers and profiles. Use only the timer. I'm using it like this and have zero problems whatsoever (Taycan 2020, own it for more than 5 years). Some people use...
