I am in the same boat as you. Between getting the batteries, allocating/installing them, and completing the journey, 2-4 months is pretty likely. I am just counting on getting my car before the end of the year now. My car is done too and was supposed to be delivered next week…
That's about the feedback folks in the UK have received, per the link above - battery supply to recommence around week 34 (w/c August 22nd) and a possible (worst case) delay of up to 8 weeks to get them fitted. No prioritisation in the manner in which they are fitted...

No word either on impact to cars yet to enter production after the holiday shutdown.

Looks like he’s just added 6-8 weeks to week 34. My UK dealer says not all cars are effected

I got today an info from my german dealer. Batteries and installation in existing cars won't be happen before week 42/43 - hopefully 2022.
This is nutty. Does it delay production of all units for 4-6 months? Are they still producing any Taycans? Seems like it would be a bigger deal (press and otherwise) if all Taycan production just hit the brakes for 1/3-1/2 of the year.

No. Production continuing as scheduled. There has been a pause in supply on the 12V LFP batteries, due we're told, to a factory fire where the batteries are produced by Porsche's exclusive battery supplier. Supply will be restored we're told from week 34 (w/c 22 August) and. from there on in will be fitted to those cars that are missing the battery. That again we're told could take up to 8 weeks from week 34.

I think the problem exists for etron GTs too my RS has just been delayed by 3 months.

Was built 3 weeks ago and now parked up in Germany awaiting parts.

Crazy times.

Hypothetical scenario here, but if you already have a Taycan and for some reason your 12V battery fails and needs replacing do you have to leave the car at the dealer for an unknown amount of time possibly weeks waiting on a replacement?

I'm not sure how that works if the other fellow is right and the delay is more severe. If they are not shipping them and not slowing down the production line, they're going to end up with having to stash every new car coming off the line until they can produce enough batteries and install them to catch up. It looks like they produce between 100-150 cars a day (using last years numbers). My car has been sitting in Emden since the end of June, so I'm guessing shortages started then, indicating a significant backlog.

Kind of seems like they are going to have to throttle down the output rate to try to align with the eventual new battery production/delivery rates, or risk drowning in unfinished cars.

I also wonder if Porsche is assessing their logistics approach which seems to make their supply chain wafer-thin to any disruptions.

Mine has been at the docks for ages. The docks are so full that they're not even sending cars there anymore - they're staying in the "compound" (whatever that is). Also, I'd imagine that cars at the docs either have batteries or will have them fitted first!

I just found out the same. They did not tell me yet how long it will take though. So disappointed. At first I got the news that my car arrived, on Friday. Now, on Monday, I get these news.

I’m exactly in the same seat. Friday the car arrived without the battery. My dealer also said to expect at least 6 weeks

I'm presuming this is the same supplier that Porsche previously had a series of 12V battery failure issues with - if so "...three strikes and you're out"? ?
