I am getting a CPO 2020 Turbo from out of state dealer. Learned that here earlier 20-21 model has mono screen. I can tell the screen with color icons but like to confirm if this is the updated version PCM 6.0 cluster 37 people referring to? Like to have them update everything before ship it to me. Cheers!

no worries, you have the uPdate (which added the colors). I can see it at the left side of the middle screen. You have 5 coloured icons instead of just three white ones

You should still ask them to check that all recalls are applied: battery recalls, brake hose, to check the cooling fans which might be shattered in the wheel wells, communication module recalls, etc.

Since it's a 2020 model, maybe ask for a battery health report, since it's close to be out of warranty. You wouldn't want to drive home a car with 73% battery health, only for it to drop below 70% as soon as you're out of warranty.

Explicitly ask them to update all modules and the PCM. There are subtle changes to some of the modules like the adaptive cruise control that clean up minor housekeeping issues. For example with the latest module software it will remember your previous follow distance setting in the adaptive cruise control but on older versions it always defaults back to the middle setting.

Just like everyone else said, make sure they applied all recalls and send you a report. The recalls mostly software, but there is a front brake hoses recall that is hardware and software and portable charger cable replace. If in doubt, run your VIN against the recall sites and share what it has and we can guide you. We know them by their campaign codes.

I’m curious why there’s skepticism about applying updates that you want to see reports and other information. It’s a CPO, so it’s likely fine, and if not, it will be fine when causing issues.

Only report I would want to see is a battery health report or certificate. And maybe something like @BjörnfromHamburg is suggesting just to know the cars history

Not all dealers love to do software, and not in all countries they do it properly either.

I had to go through 3 dealers before finding one that was willing to update my ECUs, and actually do it instead of just saying he did it.

And in some countries you get reports on the work done, and in some you don’t. In Switzerland we get 0 reports on what work has been done to the car.

So I think it’s wise to ask for stuff to be checked and have a proper report, or at least written confirmation.

Certainly on the 2020 models the latest PCM with the modules updated is a better experience, with a more responsive UI. Porsche might be screwing everyone except its Chinese overlords by intentionally holding back features that any other manufacturer would roll out globally like CarPlay directions in a binnacle, but you want the thing patched to have the best experience.

Yes, I got the battery report, and it is showing 88%. Thanks.
