Drove the 2025 Audi E-Tron GT S

Throttle response is hard, like the Taycan Turbo S.
You feel the power immediately. Very different than the previous E-Tron GT

Most improved is the suspension.
Much smoother & best of all, the excess body roll has been eliminated for significantly better handling. Steering and handling are closer to Taycan.

J1.2 Audi is closer in driving dynamics to the Taycan now.

What do you think has to be improved to be closer to the Taycan? where does it miss the mark?
BTW did you drive a car equipped with the Active Ride? does Audi offer it in this "Dynamic Driving" package priced at 11k?

VW Group product placement is confusing and very cluttered.

So the S E-Tron is placed between a 4S and a GTS, but cheaper than a GTS. And the RS is placed between a Turbo and Turbo S, but cheaper than a Turbo. And all E-Trons have less customization (more packaging).

And the only E-Trons offer are the S and RS, i.e. higher end performance versions.

The Performance package is for the RS E-Tron GT Performance. It has the carbon ceramic brakes, adaptive ride, Sport summer tires.

The Quattro Exclusive has the adaptive suspension. I drove the Prestige which didn't have the adaptive suspension.

The suspension is still not as tight as Taycan, steering still not as direct. The Audi is a softer version of the Taycan.
The Turbo GT Weissach has the best driving dynamics because the steering has the most feedback.

On the RS E-Tron GT Performance the "Performance" mode which goes to the lowest right height. It's now it's like Short+.
The current model Dynamic mode (Taycans Sport Mode) is as high as Taycans Normal mode.
This Dynamic mode on the J1 has so much body roll. In canyons I put it in Efficiency mode because its the lowest height setting. This reduces body roll.

The Performance now has an RS button which is similar to the Chrono knob on the Taycan.
These features make the cars a lot similar than before.

Nice, i guess i will wait for the $600-800 24 month leases on them :)
This the smart move. It's closer to Taycan for a realistic price.
I would definitely get an RS E-Tron GT Performance over a Turbo S. The lease is significantly better on the Audi.

Have you tried a version with and without the active suspension ?
I’ve ordered the new Quattro without Active Suspension to avoid losing the road sensation, but it’s just my theory… I haven’t found a dealer to test it yet.

I only tested the Quatrro without Active suspension. The Taycan I drove had active suspension.

You dont lose the road sensation with Active Ride. I would highly suggest driving one to really feel what it can do

Porsche settings aren’t the same as Audi, so do you think it’s worth the price difference ?

Its the same hardware, just software tuned differently.
I absolutely do think its worth it. I drive in canyons a lot so its crucial for me. If you are just doing straight line driving, it might not be as beneficial.

The weight transfer body roll is much better on the J1.2 Audi, but its still a heavy car. The active ride mitigates the weight transfer.

When you test drive it, make sure you drive it aggressive and fast in Dynamic mode to get an idea of its capabilities

For me, the Lotus Elise is the idea car in every way. Light, small, no power steering, raw, not air suspension.
These EVs are too heavy and big, so Active suspension is even more of a requirement IMO

I totally agree that a 2025 Audi RS e-tron GT Performance with the Dynamic Package (Active Ride + Carbon Ceramic brakes) is absolutely the way to go over any Taycan with the exception of the Taycan GT.

I won't comment on whether it's worth it or not, as you should try to experience it yourself to make that decision. What I can confirm is that i still feel the road very intimately with active suspension on my Taycan.
