I just received by 25 Taycan (second one) and it comes with Parking support. I tried using the parking support per many videos I watched but it’s not working. The self park button is on, when I press it a screen pops up on my main screen asking if I want to park on the right or left and I can choose, but it does not find any spots, even in areas where there are lots of easy open spots. I get the function not available. is there a sensor I need to turn on? For example, I have the lane assist off, maybe there is something I am missing?

This may not be the issue, but in at least 2 states, NY and Vermont, Porsche parking support is not operational.

You have to find the space first and then ask the car to park.

Check Owner's Manual to better understand how to use the (useless) feature but don't expect the car to find the space on its own.

Maybe you haven’t pushed hard on the brake to put parking brake on ( I don’t mean press the P)?

once you find a pot, you press the brake hard until it says brake then push the park button

I've only used it once, but I was able to get the app to back the car out of a tight spot. It worked amazingly well.
I don't use the in-car parallel park assist, I can just do it myself faster.

I will freely admit this feature confuses the hell out of me.

And I miss the old behavior which also included a curb-rash cam!

?
HOLD, if so then no need to stamp on the brake pedal to engage?

Hi, I also have new 2025 GTS and this function has not been working for 19/20 cases and even if it does, it stops in the middle of parking. I was about to contact the seller and/or service that is this normal? I thought snowy and icy parking spots are causing this, but cannot be, with BMW x5 it was working in 99,5% of the parking case during the years.

Should we ask for refund as this is not doing anything it's suppose to do?

I think people are confusing "Active Parking Support" and "Remote Park Assist" (which has Active Parking Support as well):

"Active Parking Support"
The system automatically detects parking spaces. Once the system has signaled that the parking space is a sufficient size, the driver can initiate and control the parking process. The system automatically takes over the steering and the forward and backward movement of the vehicle. The Active Parking Support is able to park the vehicle in parallel and perpendicular parking spaces.
"Remote Park Assist"
Remote-controlled parking allows the driver to enter and leave a parking space via smartphone. The system automatically detects parallel and perpendicular parking spaces and measures their size. If the parking space is a sufficient size, the driver can exit the vehicle then initiate the park maneuvers. At the end of the parking maneuver, the vehicle is automatically switched off and locked.
For "Active Parking Support" I find that I have to drive much further forward than I would have guessed (at a really slow speed) once the parking slot is identified, to start the auto parking process.

This is what I meant in my post, does this work reliably for you?

I've only used it once (only had the car for just over a month)... it worked well for a tight, right side parallel park. But again, I had to drive further forward than I would have thought after the process button was pressed and the slot identified, before the "apply brake" message appeared.

You can see what I experienced in their training video:
