30-65mph pick up on 4CT vs 4sCT

I understand many of the discussions have been around the launch control speeds of various versions of Taycan. I don't care much about the drag race kind of pick up at stop lights. I think what matters is 30 to 65+ mph. Based on your ownership experiences, how slow is 4CT vs 4sCT? I have a AWD Model 3 and wondering if I am going to miss the overtaking acceleration that I get in Model 3 if were to get 4CT. Thanks.

I can’t give you a comparison but I have a CT4 and the thing just rips from 30-100. It’s sluggish from 0-30. If you’re mostly concerned about 30-60 I then know you’ll find the CT4 a great option.

I had literally the exact same thoughts as I was debating between a 4S sedan and a CT4 while I wait for my GTS ST and I found a few decent comparisons.

C&D does a nice 30-50mph comparison in which the RWD with Performance Battery Pack is listed. Now the CT4 might be a tick or two faster since it supposedly has almost 125ft-lb more torque:

So they list the 30-50mph as 1.9 seconds on the Taycan RWD with PBP, and 50-70mph as 2.6 seconds.

The 2018 Model 3 Performance they tested had these stats:

30-50mph in 1.4 seconds, and 50-70mph in 2.0 seconds.

So the M3P is still going to be faster for sure, but I don't think the CT4 will feel "slow" in respect once you are rolling. You can definitely feel that Porsche is limiting the 0-60 performance to pad the hierarchy but when you look at the 30-50 times it becomes pretty clear that it's still damn quick.

Another interesting test data point I found was this video that was recently done on a CT4:

Now its a beautifully shot video, and if you can get over the Henry Catchpole-eqse whispering its a nice review, and has testing against other cars the guy has owned.

Definitely becomes clear where the 2-speed gearbox shines in the higher speeds:

So the M3P will still just barely edge out even a 4S, but if you can actually calibrate 1.7 seconds vs 1.4 seconds then kudos. Or 2.0 seconds vs 2.1.

I have the 4sCt and in normal mode it have some delay because it downshift which is a bit underwhelming. In sport mode it stay in first gear and the 30-50 is pretty good. I’m sure I’m sport mode it is in the same number as the M3P for the 30-50.

Has anyone seen these figures for the GTS ST. All reviews quote the standard 3.7 - 100kmh figures. It has more power than the 4s which i've seen at 3.4-3.5. Its not that important in the grand scheme of things but no one seems to be reporting the actual figures.
Matt Watson and a few others have had issues with the timing gear within the same demo model with thermal glass.

Yes, sorry the 4s quoted times are 0-60. GTS has always been shown as 0-62.

I had a model 3 performance from 2019 to 2022 and switched to a Taycan 4S so i can give you an input.

I confirm a CT4 will feel "sluggish" 0-30, things will get better after 30 but it still feels slower.
I went for a 4S which is roughly the same numbers on paper than a model 3 perf. However it still feels a tad slower. There's 2 reasons:

1. the model 3 have a better punch in the first second so you feel more the immediate acceleration. This is due the extra weight of the Taycan
2. the suspension are much much better in the taycan so it "eat" a little bit of the feeling because the car will "bend" less

All in all i went 4S because i didn't want to feel frustrated when i paid twice the price

I owned a 4S, and now a CT4. Once you're above ~30mph, they are very close.

I think the CT4 is software limited in 1st gear quite a bit, but not in 2nd. 4S has WAY more punch from a dig, but in 2nd gear from a roll though it feels basically identical.

Someone had posted 1/4 trap speeds a while back, and they are only like 4mph apart, which lines up with my theory that CT4 is limited in 1st, but has the same power in 2nd.
