12V starter battery charge monitoring on latest My Porsche app

Interesting new feature on the latest My Porsche app. As someone who lets their 911 sit around a bit – though never had a 12 volt issue – I welcome this monitoring, if it works.

And hope it doesn't itself cause 12 volt battery drain!

Mine already does. Including date stamping exactly when the car died and got towed to Porsche!

I don't mean to alarm you but someone is trying to steal your car.

I have that already, for a few years.
It's called Ancel BM200.
It's a BT device that's mounted on the 12V battery and it measures the voltage, it's also fed by that same battery.
You can activate all kinds of alarms, logs, etc.
My electric groceries getter has one too (AGM).

I think it's been lurking in the background for a number of months as I had it pop up for my 911 which was complaining as I hadn't driven it for a number of weeks.

No way currently to access and just appeared alongside the status icon (top left).

Since it’s a warning and not a true status, perhaps we shouldn’t see a permanent 12V battery-health display.
Maybe it only pops up as a “Starter battery” warning when the 12V is critically low - where @bn8959 showed (thank you!).
