Got my 2023 Taycan RWD and I've noticed that compared to all the videos I've seen of people using the Taycan I've always seen the 3 various ventilation modes when you go to the AC Ventilation screen on the PCM. I was wondering if that's just a difference on the RWD and not for the other higher models 4S and above, or is it something that they have changed going forward for the 2023 cars. I wondering if anybody else knows why this difference might be. I did not get 4-zone climate control for the rear (not sure if it matter.) My owners manual shows the following and it's what I see in the car PCM as well.

Would be helpful to see a pic of your PCM in the AC screen

The buttons labelled 'A' is where you would select diffuse/focused/individual. What does that section say on your PCM?

Yep, here's the Ventilation screen of the PCM. If I ever go into it, this is how it's always presented. Pressing on the Ventilation tab doesn't bring up any extra options.

Oh that would be annoying if it didn't have the other modes, I would have thought it was standard.

I'm looking through various documentations and can't find the difference between the RWD and other models specifically on this, so not really sure? However, it's definitely presented in the manual as this so perhaps it's just a RWD thing.

Have a 2023 CT 4S, and was wondering about tbe same thing. Also dont have the 4 zone. I do suspect that its a new thing for MY 2023 as the manual looks like in your pic, but it covers both 2 and 4 zone. If chosing "soft" You get what I believe is diffused while "strong" is directed at you with higher fan speed. But this I am sure someone with a 2023 and 4 zone could confirm

Great, thanks for the info. Yeah the manual covers having 2-zone and 4-zone as well. I believe you are you correct in that Soft is the old diffused setting. I think this was just a way of de-cluttering multiple modes into one UI. This is the excerpt from the manual. I think Soft is Low and Strong is High.

Funny enough, if you search for the Diffused and Focused, they are still mentioned. Confusingly.

I guess the old Diffused is now the Soft option and the old Focused is now the Strong option.

Not sure but when looking at videos, it seems like the vent positioning of the diffused and concentrated are the same as soft and strong. But there are differences between 2 and 4 zone also for the front. I was looking for the individual footwell control which I miss and it says "equipment dependent" in the manual. I assume this relates to 4 zone.

Could be, however in the PCM display I showed earlier. If you press the button that has the arrow going into the legs, that's the footwell control. It allows you to control the air flow to the footwell.

I'm not sure if 4-zone goes beyond this or is different in this respect.

I will have to have a look at my RWD 2021 model and see.

If it has changed, I think I prefer the new version.
It's more like traditional cars and less confusing imo.

This is true, but the manual mentions separate temperature control for the footwell. Not so relevant for many owners but had it previously on Audi and BMW and its really a big plus in winter time, long distance and heavy winter boots - being able to direct some chill air down there is a bonus

I vaguely remember reading that adding 4-zone control gives you extra options for front seat passengers, including being able to focus hot air at their feey. Don’t remember where I read it though!

Yes that is correct. Foot well temp control is only with 4 zone AC.

Looks like they changed the names and took away the individual button. In the first two modes the vent position was fixed. In individual they could be moved. I presume they just made it possible to move the vents in the other modes and this will activate individual mode.
