I’ve heard that you can get ALK turned on in software if you have the ACC hardware.

Has anyone done this? What did it cost you?

Does getting ALK require getting Innodrive?

That is true only for the 2020-2024 model years. The facelift cars does not support FoD.

For the older cars it's just a matter of buying it from the Porsche Connect store and it will activate on the car shortly after.

I have done it on mine (price is around 1000 USD if I remember correctly)

Downloaded it about a year ago, works good on my 2021. I don't have innodrive. On black Friday it was on sale, 15% off I think.

Just to confirm, you can buy just the ALK without innodrive? I don't think that was an option from the factory, but software is a squishy thing.

If anyone has a car that they can they can check, I'd really appreciate it as I'm currently shopping and feel like ALK is a requirement for me, so I want to make sure I know what it'll cost.

Both are separate FoD’s. I purchased both. I agree with you ALK is a must have.

Pay for FOD, or you can do it via PIWIS (or find someone). Our Cayenne only had ACC. I was able to code ALK. Also, if you have LCA you can code rear cross traffic alert which I believe is only included with the Innodrive suite.

P.S. This has already been covered in another thread, but if you have ACC and LCA, you have the full assortment of radars/sensors required for Innodrive.

Am I th33 only one that thinks ALK blows? Here is what I think is happening in Vegas. So, please let me/us know about your area. Here the freeway has only the round white reflectors that in essence make up the freeway dashes. There are 4 reflectors per each "dash". ALK does not read this as a lane....at all. To use ALK, I need to be in slow or fast land where there is a solid white line. At that point, it triggers. Does anyone have experience where it reads the dots as a line dash? Telsa does this like a champ. So, it looks sort of like this. 4 dots only per dash. However, Vegas is with no paint in between. So, if you don't have painted lanes... best skip ALK. It is mostly useless here.

Edit update: seems if you have black freeway or road asphalt with only 4 round reflectors it does work. If on lighter grey grooved cement freeways it does not turn on. Best guess, there is not enough contrast from grey to white vs when it works in black and white.

Hi guys,
I was lost between all the acronyms used, Porsche is really making it very difficult with 4 or 5 different options for what should basically be 1 "autopilot" like
This thread helped me personnally : https://www.macanevowners.com/forum...tive-lane-keeping-and-lane-keep-assist.16953/
I'm not sure if ACC is integrated on a Taycan Turbo 2020 or if it was an option you must have before you can buy online any additional service.

Do you have a picture of the bumper? That way we can see if you have ACC. If so, you can buy ALK and Innodrive as paid software updates. Both around €800

You're really cool Jasper, thanks for always answering me, if you come by Paris let me know, I definitely owe you a beer !! :)

I've uploaded here all the pictures I have (I didn't take myself, right now it's sitting at the Porsche dealer)
Is it sufficient ?

So I see 2 main choices here : either stick to ACC + ALK
or go for InnoDrive, which includes ACC & ALK.
What's confusing is I also read that the Function on Demand Innodrive ~850€ is not the same as if you had the car configured with it from the beginning, does someone know the difference ? (not that I'll have a choice anyway lol...)

See other thread. You do not have ACC, so no option for ALK or Innodrive. Factory option is indeed different. One of the main differences is no cross traffic assistance for the FoD

Right, i've switched back to the other thread.
Interesting to know thought, by "cross traffic" you mean "lane change assist" right ?

The very strange thing is that their ad says it does have the option "Assistance au changement de voie" which translates by "Lane change assistance".

So they got that wrong, it can't have it if I don't have ACC hardware, right ?
