Hey everyone,

Got the new interior alarm sensor since two months ago in my MY22 4S and everything been working great since then, no false alarms anymore. But today my alarm started triggering every time as soon as I lock the car. This happens since then without fail, regardless of locking with key or the app, and double pressing lock button does not help either. Does not matter if I disable interior alarm or not, it still starts beeping about 10 seconds after locking. Taking it to the dealer tomorrow as I effectively cant lock the car anymore. Tried rebooting PCM and other things but no change. Could it possibly be some glitch in the inclination sensor? Anyone else had this pop up? Any tips or tricks appreciated!

I had the sensor replaced too and thankfully have not ran into this problem. But what if your dealership did not install the replacement part properly, and while driving the car recently maybe it got dislodged or unseated? That would be my guess.

yes, good suggestion - thank you. I left the car unlocked over night, and I did put it on charging. And guess what, the problem which happened with 100% consistency had completely disappeared overnight. In the morning I could lock/unlock all I want and no alarm. I did bring the car to the shop yesterday, but they could not find a reason, but have raised a ticket to the backend support team. Will see what I get back, real happy that it works again but also a bit concerned if this would start popping up on a roadtrip.

the issue is that as soon as i lock the car, the alarm immediately goes off

That was a really old issue that was completely solved in 2022 with sensors and software updates. Is your car new ?

No, when it was new i had this issue and the recall was done to resolve it, it was the sensor that was too sensitive to the LTE modem in the car, but this issue with locking the car and the alarm going off immediately is new to this car, never had this before today.

I had this happen. Took the car to dealer to have a look and, as if by magic, the problem could not be replicated. My guess is that the gremlin will not show up again until the car is out of warranty. But in the meantime, no annoying alarm when I lock the car.

Good news!
As you guys said I left the car unlocked overnight and the issue is gone, hopefully will never repeat!

Just started happening to my car, as soon as the car is locked, it starts screaming. Disabling internal monitoring does not make the problem go away. Drove by the dealer to show them. They said they've seen a few of those, not just on Taycans, apparently faulty alarm module. Temperatures just dropped here after the summer, so maybe it's allergic to cold like my door handles. Car going in next week for other issues, so hopefully they can take care of it at the same time. Not sure if it was coincidence or not, but my PCM had a couple of OTA's yesterday when I was driving it. *sigh*

Update, ~24hrs later, after being parked unlocked, the car successfully locked without the alarm going off. Hopefully it will last a few days before I drop it off for service (for this and other things). The annoying thing is, when this happens, there isn't much you can do if you need your car locked, just need to let the car scream itself out, while standing there in the parking lot with your head hung low, "sorry everyone, I bought a Porsche, they are new at electronics".

I sometimes wonder if the biggest feature Porsche missed on their Taycan is a giant switch under the hood which would disconnect power from the car (both 12V and 800V) so that owners could at least fully reset the car in hopes it fixes, at least temporarily, whatever glitched out.

The hood depends on the electrical system to open so may also glitch ….
Maybe a physical lever somewhere outside the car!

If hood is open, and I lock the car, I get a simple chirp (or two, I don't remember), not the blaring siren I experienced recently.

Happened to me this morning. 2020 Taycan 8000 miles. All updates have been done.

Went to the gym, parked the car. Got my stuff out of the trunk. Hit the lock button and started walking away. Alarm sounded obnoxiously as soon as the mirrors stopped folding in. I unlocked and it stopped.

Locked it from the key fob, same thing. I played this game a few times before I started the car and tried again. Same thing happened.

I left the car unlocked and walked away, but as soon as it locked itself, same thing.

This time I let the alarm stop on its own and left the car alone. Went to the gym for 90 minutes and it stopped doing it.

Drove to the dealer and could not replicate it. They never heard of this issue.

Now I'm waiting to see if it happens again. No idea.

I had the same thing a few weeks ago. The moment we locked the car, the alarm sounded. Frustratingly, it was when we were parked in a not very nice car park about to go to a concert.

Leaving the door very slightly ajar eventually allow us to walk away from the car without the alarm sounding. Will very unhappy about doing that in the car park. But it was the only way for us to get on that evening.

A first attempt for 20 minutes or so made no difference. However, when we came back at the end of the concert, the Taycan had eventually had a sleep and the problem was cured.

i’m getting very irritated with these sorts of software faults that are reported by multiple users in this forum but each OPC says is a “new“ problem for which there is no symptom remaining when they review the car. How does Porsche learn about these problems? And is there anyone at home in their software maintenance team?
