I now have my 4s exactly 2 years. The question now is whether I should take out an approved warranty for about 1400 euros. 1400 was ok for the Panamera because the motor and other other components were broken again and again. Has anyone taken out this approved warranty and why?

Or other question. Who has problems after 2 years that the approved warranty has or would have covered?

It was an easy decision in my case. I have had quite a lot of HW issues on top of all the well known SW glitches and issues. Heater, charging cables, charger in car, fans, and all the communication modules have been changed at least once. Plus the fact that it brings the Porsche Assistance with a loan or hire car, made it an easy decision, as I mainly use the Taycan for long road trips( 5 - 9000km),and not so much for local trips.

Just check to see if you've got two or three years of New Car Warranty. Here in Ireland, we get three years – not sure if that is EU wide or not?

You don't want to be purchasing overlapping warranties.

In UK the warranty is 3 years.

I would always take a Porsche Approved warranty - 1 heater failure (for example) will cost and arm and a leg to repair.

Any idea what the process/cost is to get a Porsche warranty?

With a Taycan bought privately which has 1 year of the 3 year left can this be extended?

With Jaguar even with a privately bought car, you can pay for a dealer check (think it was £400) then you can have the dealer provide a Jaguar warranty (that is normally provided with a car bought from a Jaguar dealer), I.e. £800-£1000 for a 3 year old F Type.

Just take the car to the dealer and ask. They may want to inspect the car first.

I am not sure how true it is but I was speaking to a senior salesman at my local Porsche dealer ship. Discussing the heater issue, his statement was that Porsche consider this an established issue that when/if it showed itself would be covered by Porsche irrespective of warranty......
