I went to Porsche Palooza in Arkansas one year in a Taycan.

It was about 50/50 between interested people with questions, and muttered sneers.

I started with electric cars when I still had an aircooled 993 Carrera S.
Man, you should have heard all the studied doctors and engineers...
Funny enough, I will have my first reunion since 2016 with that club next month on a Porsche tour in the Erzgebirge Mountains.
Of course I wouldn't be allowed to bring the Taycan with me.
Let's see, how they got on with their education...

Generally yes, but depends on generation of the person and car. IMO, 991 and 992 owners whom are stretching $3k car payments and praying for 0 depreciation and 1000 IG likes...

Also, it does feel like you're part of a social club for enthusiast models

What you need is a GT car to shut everyone up. (Like you COULD have brought your GT3, but you're just flexing by bringing a Taycan to piss people off)

I never buy a car (or anything else) for other people.

I couldn’t care less what people think.

Not in my experience. They tend to be split into two general groups - the enthusiasts who love the marque (I'm in this camp) or those who drive it to "show off" their wealth. I hang around people who are enthusiasts in the main and they are the nicest, friendliest bunch. I don't really know people in the second group.

This is my first Porsche and I've noticed that not everyone is happy for me. I try to be considerate towards other drivers, but it seems some people see me in my gleaming silver Taycan and don't know what to think. What is your experience?
How dare you ask! 😂
