I think it’s ridiculous (my opinion - this is an “op-ed” after all) for anyone to “optimize” their build by excluding the $460 400V/150kW charging option - which has the potential to save one _ACTUAL_ personal time if they encounter or use a 400V > 50kW charger during their ownership - I understand this is a potentially “rare” encounter (less so if you consider Tesla Supercharger access which has already started becoming reality) - but still - let’s review the options Porsche will charge you more money than this very functional and very useful personal time saving option…(yes this option may in fact save you personal ACTUAL honest to goddness time while you charge your Taycan in some random parking lot - actually as much as 1 hour _LESS_ time spent waiting for your Taycan to reach 90%)
check the box and move on IMHO - this is _NOT_ where you’re going to save money on a Porsche build…vs. other options in context

- _ANY_ wheel choice - $1200 or more
- _ANY_ interior choice - $4130 or more
- _ANY_ seat choice - $1500 or more
- Deviated stitching - $5100
- Sports design carbon fibre - $9500
- Sports design package - $5600
- etc…sports design anything - moving on
- gloss black mirror base - $600
- painting your keys to match the car color - $500 or more…
- Mirrors in carbon fibre - $1400
- Bespoke Decal set - $1350
- Porsche sports electric sound - $500
- sports chrono package - $1320
- PCCB’s are un-necessary on this car for any reason and yet people (myself included) spend $6000++
- all other performance options get a “pass“ because they are actually functional in nature and signficant mechanical change
- _ANY_ change to headlights - $1500 or more
- Light Strip with Porsche Logo in black - $950
- Glass roof - $1300
- HUD - $1600
- Surround View - $1200
- Lane Change Assist - $950
- rear 2+1 seat - $480
- _ANY_ seat belt change - $660
- _ANY_ interior accent change - $650 or more
- _ANY_ thing in the “Leather” section for options
- _ANY_ thing in the Racetex section for options
- honestly - Racetex floor mats are more expensive than this option - FLOOR MATS!!
- Carbon Fibre anything!!
- Most of the Aluminum options
- audio and communication - yep all more expensive
- Anything in e-Mobility (except range manager)
- honestly this option is Cheaper than the the BOX to hold your charger!! $470 for a decorative BOX
- any delivery experience…$500 or more…
