I called Porsche Support just now and they told me that it 'is a characteristic of the Taycan' that one has to input the pin every time the car is started. True?????

Has anyone else on here mentioned a PIN every time you start the car?

In addition to the comfort memory settings, you can set up personalized profiles through the PCM (I think it is up to 8 profiles). If you want to use a profile other than the Guest profile, you have the option to require a PIN to access your personal profile. If I recall it prevents others (parking valets, carwash attendants, etc.) from accessing things like the Connect services, Apple music account, etc. that anyone with access can configure through the PCM. For the first week, I had the PIN enabled. However, it became a hassle to enter it ever time I used the car. You have the option to allow your profile to automatically load without a PIN. This is how I have my profile currently set up.

This. Right here. That’s how my car is set up.

You should set up a profile. On the occasions when I forgot to enter my PIN on the screen, the system defaulted to the Guest profile. There were less features available under the Guest profile than what I had customized under my personal profile. By changing the setting to not require my PIN, the system now opens under my personal profile automatically.
