Back Bumper Damage / Replacement

Have any of you guys had your back bumper replaced?

long story short the left back side of my bumper was scratched/dented pretty good by the misses (bumper part # 9J1807984C) and scuffed a very small part of the lower cover (part # 9J1807875E). Please see pictures.

I took it to the porsche certified body shop that one of the dealers recommended. they are recommending replacing bumper (totally understand) but also completely replacing the lower cover with the small scrape (please see pictures). i'm not gonna pretend I know anything about body repair, but I feel like replacing the lower cover is not needed especially since there will prob be additional wear/tear damage to that area in the future anyway (the area is maybe 2 inches long).

After doing all the labor and having the dealership reprogram all the assistance systems at the service center, the total is quotes around 7k USD? I do not mind paying in the end to porsche certified standards but wanted to get some different opinions / if anyone has had a similar experience. if they gotta take off the lower portion anyway to replace the bumper, the lower cover is only $500 and might as well shell out the money. this would be all out of pocket and they know that since they directly ask on their intake form. there's a second porsche certified body shop in area but won't be able to get in for another week to get an estimate.

I mean, it needs body/paint work. The trim piece would probably save you $150. You can't really take any shortcuts. File an insurance claim and just hand it over to them and get it done right.

I had my MY21 back bumper cover replaced July 2021. The work was performed by a PCC. At that time the total cost for the cover, installation, paint and new Xpel film was $2,500. I bet it is double that today.

hey guys. just wanted to post this if anyone else in future has to go through the same. it cost about $4k USD to have the top portion and bottom portion replaced with OEM parts from certified body shop. price includes them reprogramming the blind spot systems afterwards.
