Hello,
I received my Taycan this week and I'm currently waiting to have a charger installed in my garage.

I know the battery should generally stay between 20-85% to maintain its lifespan; however, until my charger is installed, I have to travel about 10-15 miles to an EA charger. To minimize trips, I charged it to 100%, thinking it would drop to around 85% on the way home, but it's currently sitting at 90%.

I assume this isn't a major issue, but is it harmful to leave the car at 90% occasiona

You're overthinking it too. After a few days of typical driving behavior, you'll likely figure out a charging pattern. My particular behavior, I charge the car maybe once a week (overnight at home at 40 amps), or prior to any trips that need more than 80 miles. Otherwise, my car is always just sitting somewhere at the 20%-60% mark. I set my charge limit to 85%.

If you have anxiety, you can consider turning down the included Porsche charger to 15-20 amps and just keep the car constantly plugged in on a level 1 plug. Challenge will be to ensure you're not tripping the breaker wherever you decide to plug in. You'll be pleasantly surprised even at the trickle rate, if constantly charged, the car will be in a useable range whereas every 12 hrs you'll add about 10%

Charging to 100% is fine as long as you consume soon after charging e.g. planning a long trip. Not using a car for days on end at 100% is not ideal.

At the end of the day don't over think it.

I’ve had my 4S for five years and have charged it to 100% every time. My range on a full charge was 306 miles on my most recent full charge. No ill effects.

It's not harmful. Especially for short period.
