Please could you let me know if i missed a memo i have an 18 month old Taycan rwd in a Porsche Dealers Service department due to a red warning signal notifying me of an Electrical problem and i needed to park the car. The car was not drivable, I called Porsche support and they sent the AA man out within the hour. He carried out his tests and confirmed it was High Voltage Battery issues and to get it to a main dealer asap.He recommend a dealership who he said had to accept it immediately as it was a breakdown and a replacement car would be supplied to me as it wasn't fit for purpose.
I had a call from Car Hire company and a beat up Alfa Romeo was supplied to me.
I then got a call from the main dealer after receiving my car saying they wont be able to look at it for 2 weeks and also the car supplied to me would only be for 5 DAYS then i would have to pay the rental fees. MY car has a fault and i have to pay rental fees. Welcome your feedback

I've had this with Volvo not Porsche, they ended up paying until my car was ready, I went straight to their customer care not the garage., it's not your fault. They need to give you something to keep you going.

I assume Porsche Assist (AA) organised the loan car rather than the dealer? They use Enterprise but if Enterprise don't have any appropriate loan cars then they do use another car rental firm which has higher quality cars. The Enterprise rentals are for 5 days but then just need Porsche Assist or the dealer to confirm renewal until your car is back on the road. I would call Porsche Assist and them the Alfa is totally unacceptable and you want an appropriate loan car and tell them dealer cannot even look at for 2 weeks so rental needs to be extended. You can also claim upto £200 for fuel for loan cars so keep the receipts.

My car’s just been in for a heater replacement. It was one of a number with the dealership in a queue for the modified part so the timescale estimate was 3 weeks.

Within 24 hours of contacting Prorsche Assist, my car had been collected (The broken heater meant I could not de-mist the car and so it wasn’t safe to drive) and I had a hire car for the duration of the repair.

I insisted on an electric vehicle (which took a call to Porsche to agree) and was provided with a Ford Mustang. It’s by no means an equivalent vehicle but it did the job and really helped me appreciate the Porsche when it arrived back after 2 weeks.

I think the key to all of this was dealing through Porsche Assist and not with the dealership themselves.

I found the service to be very good even if there was a bit of haggling involved.

50 days and counting.
Waiting for the 'on board charger' to be installed. Driving a Tin can (instead of Tay can) Audi A3 which burns a mixture of some solvents (mostly gasoline and 10% alcohol) with a 999 cc chemical energy converter.
No idea when I will have my Trashcan back. I'm starting to hope its BER.

Hi

I had the same problem back on 1 October and my car is still at the dealer with no promise date of a fix !! I have had various excuses from no one trained to fix it to we don’t have the right kit and parts etc. I got given a basic Tiguan through enterprise and kicked off and have had a BMW IX since ( whilst not a Porsche still an ev and nice to drive). You need to escalate at your dealer and ask for compensation. I have negotiated my lease payments back and first service for free and a day at the experience centre ! At the very least they need to provide you with an equivalent vehicle whilst yours is off the road !!

If the car is recovered via porsche assist, then the receiving dealership is required to check the vehicle within 5 (or maybe it's 7) days i think.

I am very confused by this post. Can someone fill me in? You have a car under the manufacturer's warranty ie. Porsche correct? Why are you not supplied with another Taycan to drive? I am new here and I swear there were people on this forum that mentioned they always get a Taycan as a rental. Am I missing something here?

In the UK there are so many Taycans with battery issues they haven’t enough loaner Porsches to go around so you get a vehicle through enterprise rentals. This is ok for a few days but when your car is off the road for 4.5 months as mine was, it’s totally unacceptable !!
