I am going with P-Zeros as my dealer said the good years are harder to source and I wanted it done while recall work is getting done. Last year I didn’t have winters on and it was sketchy at times. Now that my kid uses the “family” car as if it is completely hers ? I wanted the Taycan to be very dependable in normal winter conditions. I won’t take it out in big storms only for fear of other cars hitting me :)

You have to understand the difference between all those studless winter tires before making a decision. People here mentioned Pirelli pzero winter and Michelin pilot alpin. Those are winter tires for Germany like winter weather when there is little snow, some slush and near 0 conditions. They have quite hard compound and wear out slower in warm conditions.

In contrast, Goodyear ultra grip winter (there are Nordic and non-Nordic version of these. So keep an eye on that when choosing) and Nokian Hakkapelitta R5 are Nordic studless winter tires. Which are actually real winter tires that behave pretty much on par with tires with studs (I’ve been using Nordic winter studless tires for more than 8 years). These have really soft compound and wear out faster in warm conditions.

So you need to decide what exactly you need. If there will be barely snow and ice, go with non-Nordic ones. Otherwise, get Nordic.

The way how you can distinguish them is the following - Nordic ones have sharp edges and a lot of small cuts while non-Nordic ones look like summer tires on edges (they are round) and don’t have that much cuts.

Moved from Michelin to Continental T860 and I like them more. Feels much more secure and agile at the same time.
