Bose Surround Setting

I checked the forum, and didn't find this one.

Has anyone else noticed that the Bose Surround option gets turned off every once in awhile?

I'll be listening to either the radio or XM, turn on the Bose Surround, and enjoy the sound of this option.

Then I forget about it and contune with my life.

A few days later, a good song comes on the radio and I crank it up a bit. I'm disappointed that the sound system doesn't sound great, and I check the Bose Surround option- sure enough, it's turned off.

At first I thought I had to select it for each preset station I had - but I've tried that.

Anyone else experience this? Have a way to fix it?

Yeah, happens often. Quite annoying. It also applies to the bass/treble settings.

Not just Bose. My sound settings on the Burmester including bass/treble get reset to default all the time too.

Yep, at least my settings are so far off normal, I can notice the moment it happens.

Same here…with Bose surround and Bass/treble to “0”. All very random and occasional.

Sounds like we need to all report this to porsche serivce at the same time to really get some action going haha

I hate the fact some PCM features are not saved. For me another one is seat heat balance settings... Resets to default every time!

This is across PCM6. My Cayenne does it too. When I just had the car in for service they said they didn't have a fix yet.

Also the option to change the ambient lighting to match the album art. It turns off that option intermittently for me as well.

Mine reset as well. Yesterday my wife asked me why it sounded like a clock radio but I thought it was due to the poor on her phone since she was streaming music from it. Just came back out and put back the settings and now it sounds awesome again…need to keep an eye on it.

Update - since writing this post, I've been checking the bose surround setting every time I drive the car. Mainly to and from work, and the normal weekend activities.

Zero issues.

Until this morning. I was on my way to work, waiting at a stop light to turn left. Light turns green, I go to move, and nothing. Sure enough, the car decided it was comfortable at the light and determined this was a great place to automatically switch to Park.

Not the first time this has happened. Switch the car to drive, and away I go.

For giggles, right after this, I checked the surround setting, and sure enough, it was off.

It may not be related, but posting here just incase someone else noticed the same.

A shot in the dark, but do you have a charging profile set, and if so, to what percentage do you charge the battery?

I normally use a profile that charges to 85%. A few times recently, when I know I've got a long trip the next day, I set it to 100%.

After charging to 100% the Bose settings are gone. Charging to 85% and they remain.

I don't believe that there is a any relation between the Bose setting and the charging.

The problem with the surround sound happened to me very often, but since the various updates in the last weeks, the problem dissapeared. And so are other problems with the PCM (profile, favourite radio stations and so on...)
