i have the first 2 problems you've noted above....I think think is something wrong with either the PCMs Bluetooth functions or the CarPlay implementation. About 1/3 of the time I drive, I see wierdnesses:
- My car says ‘No device connected’. Yet when I open ‘Devices’, my phone is listed and connected. And the CarPlay icon is illuminated but not functioning
- CarPlay won’t come on at all (icon is missing). So I listen to FM radio
- CarPlay appears, it looks like it’s playing but no sound comes from the car. It’s like the PCM is using the wrong audio source.
- CarPlay appears but when I play music (I mainly use Pandora), the time indicator doesn’t move. It’s like the PCM connected by Bluetooth to my iPhone but isn’t sending commands to the phone.
I have 100% success with Sirius and FM radio, but using Bluetooth for CarPlay music it only works some of the time. The next time this happens, I think I’m going to plug in my phone to see if I can get CarPlay running wired instead of wireless.
Odd, right?i have the first 2 problems you've noted above....
well I assume I just haven't driven it enough to experience the other issues! Truth is I have no place to go...Odd, right?
NAV on the PCM is actually quite good. As others have pointed out, it's accurate and has the EV charger locations. But Waze is better for most of my use cases, since the problem for me is traffic more than the need to charge. I don't have many 150 mile driving days in the last 15 years (maybe two).Would you say the NAV on the PCM is not good or still decent?

I would put the phone in airplane mode, delete the phone from the PCM, take the phone off airplane mode, plug it in, then drive (somewhere - grocery store, hardware store, etc.). After returning to your car, don't re-connect the phone with the cable. It should work again. I did this shortly after I got the car and it has worked perfectly ever since.I think think is something wrong with either the PCMs Bluetooth functions or the CarPlay implementation. About five years ago, when my son was 11 years old, I had him record the directions in Waze, so I have a custom sound profile where his 11 year old voice navigates us when we use Waze. So we have a very strong affinity for Waze now even when the nav is otherwise equivalent.i like that she says “please turn….”
PCM has good manners. A class act!
