Hi all,
I am lovin my taycan gts. I’ve had no issues but recently had an issue with charging compatibility. I purchased a lectron tesla to j1772 adapter (250v 48 amp max) which worked great for 2 months in charging my car at work. The charger at my work is a Tesla gen 2 wall charger with output of 250v and 100amp (no way for me to change it to lower amp). Recently I’ve been getting charging error messages and noted the charger was hot a few times. I figured the wall charge of 100amp and adapter of 48amp may be a source of the problem (per lectron customer service). I ensured the car charger (both ac and ac/dc) are working by checking it at my home ChargePoint flex charger and had no issues.
I don’t see any Tesla to j1772 100 amp adapters. I do see one online with seguma brand of 80amps. Any recommendations on how to deal with this issue? I was going to purchase the 80 amp one. I tried the same 80 amp one that belongs to a friend and it worked ok.

this is only an issue _IF_ your Taycan has 19.2 kW charging option.

if your Taycan has the 19.2 kW option you should purchase an 80 amp adapter because your vehicle _WILL_ pull 80 amps when presented with an 80 amp EV charger.

the amp rating on any adapter is a measure of the adapter's "robustness" - not an indication of any limits it will place on charging.
