Here is some data from my charging session in my garage today.

My set up is the PMCC linked with a Porsche Home Energy Manager since we have preferential rates during certain hours of the day and the night. I have a three phase supply with max 32 amp per phase, which the car can obviously not utilise. My plug is a 32 amp CEE plug for three phase and the cable to the car is the short one of 2.5 meters rated at 400 volt, 20 amp ( I guess per phase).

@ron_b I have included some data for the charging rate from the charger as well as what the car displays.

My set up in the car was today to charge to a minimum of 60% in the morning with optimised charging selected in the profile. Normally I only have it set to 25% but just to make sure everything would work out today since I needed the car, I set it to 60%. The the car was then set to be charged to 85% at 17.00 when I want to go out with the car. 17.00 also is the time that the low rate electricity during daytime ends.

I plugged the car in at 55% charge this morning at 12.10. It started charging immediately and then stopped at 60% with“Paused “ on The display. It has now started charging again and is charging at 11.0 kW.

The ambient temperature is about 28 degrees Celsius ( 82 degrees F). In my car some fan or pump starts and stops ever so often and you hear it. Guess for some cooling?

The car itself reports charging at close to 10 kW! In the app 9.9 kW but in the car 9.97 kW so about a 10% loss in charging rate. The car has started and stopped charging once as can be seen in the graph, I guess to adjust to being charged to the set target on time.

some temperatures that I recorded.
Ambient 28 degrees Celsius.
Inlet Cable rated at 32 amp three phase 30.5 degrees Celsius.
Charging cable to car rated at 20 amp 400 volt 35 degrees Celsius.
Connecter at car about 33 degrees.
PMCC housing on sides and front just under 40 degrees Celsius.

So for me the PMCC does what it says on the Tin. It works really nice with the Home Energy Manager so far and delivers the result that I want. It also rorts the cost for each charge this way.

Setting up everything was not as simple as it could be, but once you tried to understand what Porsche means with their instructions it is fine.

Just my Euro 0.02 .

Excellent analysis @Scandinavian thanks for putting it all together. I don't have a car yet but happy to test when it comes in 2 months.

Happy that the Home Energy Manager works well for you. It's not available in USA yet to my knowledge.

Why would you "normally" only charge to 25% ?

If I plug the car in say at 18.00 the rate is quite high to charge. But I still want to make sure I have enough charge in the car if I have to use it again, so I can reach an Ionity fast charger about 25 km away safely! I then utilise the cheap electricity during the night to have the car charged to 85% in the morning.

This only makes sense if you have electricity supply at different rates during the day or week? If you only have a flat rate 24/7 it is of no use at all.

@Scandinavian - thank you for posting all the details on timed charging. I am also starting to look more at the data from the charger to see how much energy loss. Last time I estimated about 13% loss using the 30A limit. Will set the charger back to 40A and see what that gives.

Today I set up the Porsche Mobile Connect in my garage while I wait for my PDLS error code to be fixed in the car. I was confused where to find the country confirmation button but after watching the UK dealer's video you just press on the country selected. Connecting to WiFi was straight forward. Pairing to My Porsche worked once I went to https://pair.porsche.com within the 10 minute window. The unit updated it's software for good luck and entering the user PIN was easy. The charger was reporting there was no car plugged in. I got the 25' cord but it isn't long enough to charge the car in the driveway. I set the charging current to 20 Amps.
