Do you need the " Automatically dimming exterior and interior mirrors " option if you are going for " Acoustically insulated laminated privacy glass " is it worth it then?
In my previous car which had tints, the dimming function never worked as there was not enough light to bother the rearview mirror sensor
It's a no-brainer tick box option. The upgraded glass will have no adverse impact on its operation.

If anything I would skip the upgraded glass - expensive repair if needed and doesn't make the car any quieter

I don't have the dimming mirrors on my 4S and never have an issue - I'm sensitive to glare too with my baby blues! The acoustic glass can easily give - if it was any good they would give a dB number to quantify the betterment but they don't. I have no doubt it cuts out a little rumble but this is a VERY quiet refined car anyway.

The insulated glass is more about reducing heat than noise..

They state the difference in the attached article (7.3% in certain key frequencies).

Rare fact there - although NOTHING on its thermal properties! Max 7% acoustic reduction (although not stated at what specific frequency or width of this freq band)? Pass, in a snake oil kind of way sorry!

Did you not actually read the article?

"This reduces outside noise by up to 7.3 per cent in a frequency range of 630 hertz to 6.3 kilohertz"

The arrows on the images speak louder than words.

Just thought to let you know I went with the GTS.
Surely it was the best choice.

Thanks all for your help!
Glad we didn't muddy the waters too much! Its no way unique to Porsche but sifting through it all and considering value is often challenging! As long as the residuals hold its largely all good! Now sit back and relax for 15 months!

That was certainly a fun read… and would say you made a great choice with the GTS, given your situation!

Similar to this thread, I went back and forth on 4S vs GTS… ~$10K difference for features I wasn’t overly excited about. Ultimately, ordered a less “sportier” 4S. ?

The 4S is faster than most things on the road and handles and rides absolutely superbly. The ST/CT is also extremely practical. Forget any 1st world notion of second best! The car is absolutely seminal. I don't say this lightly. Enjoy it.
