I’m (hopefully) picking up a new to me 4S soon. It’s currently on 21” RS spyder wheels, but with summer rubber. I’m in Toronto and it’s snow here for another month or two.

The car is mamba, and I’ve always pictured it with black wheels….currently they’re silver. I haven’t even seen the car yet! But I know I can’t use the rubber as is. I’ve asked the dealer to replace the summer rubber with all season, until I decide whether the spyders will be my summers or not. They’ve agreed to put on Goodyear Eagle Touring all seasons, and said it’s the better of the two options (other being continental). I’ve always run Contis on my Tesla 21”/19” and been happy.

Search on this site about the Continental Procontact RX tires. They are not good in the wet. Goodyear I don’t know about.

I had Goodyear winter tires on my 2020 Taycan turbo with 20 inch Porsche winter wheels. I bought the winter wheel set directly from Porsche and they were fitted with the Goodyear winter tires. It was nice to have a separate set of wheels and tires so as not to damage the 21 inch rims. I was happy with the Goodyears although didn’t really drive the car in really bad weather. I also recently put 20 inch good year all seasons on a BMW 850ix that came with summer tires as standard . No experience in bad weather but so far happy with the ride. Note Goodyear is an OEM supplier to BMW and Porsche. Note 20 inch wheels with winter tires will be far superior to 21 inch tires as the narrow tire performs better .

I have had bad experience with goodyears in the past. Specifically, on two different sets, one or two tires have gone slightly out of round, causing a slight but noticeable vibration at speed despite balancing. Perhaps would not be a problem on Taycan as the tread may not last long enough for the problem to develop, but I'd avoid...

I think if I were to get a set of winter wheels, I'd go 20" instead of 21" in order to have more sidewall. So how about saving the beautiful 21" Spyders for summer - they scream out for performance tires - and get a set of 20" wheels and tires for Winter? Unless of course you have the big brakes and are forced to stick with 21".

I am currently running these Goodyears on my CT 4S. While they dont replace a winter/snow tire entirely, they are very good all year around.

I ran Contis (new) on 20" for one winter, and now Goodyears (new) on 19". This winter is definitely milder than the previous one, but I encountered some challenging conditions. I'd say I preferred the Contis - they seems a bit more grippy, but could have been the wider contact patch. Either would be passable for the occasional snow/ice, but would not recommend as a main winter tire. (The Goodyears will be replaced with proper winters next season.)

I have heard reports of Contis not being good enough in the wet; I haven't had any issues, although traction control is damn good on this car, and hides a lot of a tire's struggle.

Big brakes only preclude the use of 19"; there is no restriction on 20" wheels.

Currently have the Conti Continental Procontact RX's. They have been OK.
Northern CA SF Bay Area, never in the snow. at most colder, rainy weather.

Can anyone comment on the 21" Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 or 5's (NF0)?
I'm wondering if, as a summer tire, the F1's could be used year round in our climate.
