100% worth it for that price. I paid £750 and very pleased with it - lately it's meant I can pressure wash the car mid-week with no other products and it's back to being shiny immediately

So with GTechnique coating your just jet washing it? No soap or anything? Do you dry with a micro fibre cloth? Would that not put in hairline scratches?

no, don't let the dealer do it. Take it to a reputable detailing shop. Ideally, even minimize the amount of car washes at the dealer, take it to a place where they know how to hand wash.

I'd be surprised if the dealer actually did the work. At that point, it comes down to whether you want to trust the dealer to choose the installer or if you'd rather trust yourself to choose the installer.
Many dealers actually hire in detailers that do the job at the dealer. But it varies and some of the guys they use are not really serious. The end result is not so much about the ceramic, but the preparation. The polishing and cleaning prior to coating.

I think in the UK the dealers use a 3rd party and generally charge with minimal or no mark up. As for cost, that depends if the dealer gets a discount or not, by the look of it, the prices quoted by the dealers are quite reasonable, infact some showing cheeper than if you were to walk into a detailer.

Should you do it - why not if you have the time and cash, anything that helps protect has got to be better than nothing. I didn't have time to get it done by the dealer so will look up here in the North West, am budgeting around £500-£600 ish...may need to add a bit more for wheels but only need the 3 yr stuff

@tylerdurden yup this time of year I’m lust jet washing and leaving it to dry - a 5 min job at most. It’s not “summer clean” admittedly but it’s enough to look brilliant and avoid my hands getting cold.

every few weeks I jet wash, snow foam, brush all over, jet wash and towel dry but that’s the most that’s been needed.

years ago I bought two identical cars back to back, one with the equivalent of gtechniq and the second without. The second was noticeable harder to keep clean - same paint, same car, etc

So I declined in the end. Apparently done by dealer and is for CX2 which gets a bit of a slating on other forums.

Will sort elsewhere. Cheers.
