IMO, most of the options you listed aren't really must haves unless you've driven a Taycan with those options. My Taycan has all except for ACC and HUD. I haven't been driven a Taycan with HUD. ACC, since I never had it I never missed it UNTIL, I drove a loaner equipped with ACC. At least for me, if I were buying used ACC would not be a deal breaker. After a few days without ACC in my Taycan, I got over it.

Taycan handles well, but PDCC, RAS, and PTV+ combine for a much more dynamic and excellent handling Taycan. PDCC is more about than keeping the body flat. PDCC can almost decouple the sway bars from the suspension, which makes for a much more comfortable ride when going over uneven or angled roads that require the left and right sides of the suspension to compress/decompress opposite of each other--.like pulling into a driveway/plaza or going over a dip that only affects one side of car.

Burmeister vs BOSE - I'm so used to Burmester that it would be hard to go back to Bose.

Power Steering Plus - won't notice much during driving and at speeds, mainly for parking.

Surface coated brakes - mainly looks (bigger, more shiny). Only the surface is coated so there are parts of the rotor that won't be free from rust. I have it, so it would be difficult to get base brakes. Would at least get PSCB or PCCB in future.

Power charge port - Looks are subjective. Are you going to lose sleep over getting .03 worse cd? I have it. Could go either way with this one.

ACC- I think this comes down to personal preference; however, I'd take the performance options over ACC any day.
Makes sense for sure. My decisions now are basically as per the last few posts in this thread - comparing the older 22 4S with PDCC/PTV/RAS to a 24 GTS with just PTV, and at a premium.

Some further questions on options and other things:

1. 8 way vs 14 way seats - would I notice a difference coming from my S4? I love my S4's seats and how I can get it to hug me in, but just wondering if I need then to get the 14 or even 18 way seats

2. Racetex and specifically Racetex on steering wheel vs. leather - I'm kind of against how it looks - does it really provide that much more grip on the steering wheel in day to day driving?
As for on the seats - are there any benefits to it? I'd think it would absorb a lot of oils over time and look like crap. I sit in my car after gym workouts and I just don't like the idea of doing that on Racetex seats either.

Finally, about software lag - how bad is the 2024 and does a 2025 largely fix issues with lag on the screens and also lag connecting or bringing up Carplay?

14-way seats are best in my view in the Taycan.
Racetex is not good for the needs that you are describing.
2024 and 2025 use the same PCM hardware. The part that is faster is route planning.
Cannot comment on Carplay. 2025 expanded the features.

Finally bought a new 25 4S yesterday. My first EV and my more importantly my first Porsche!

20" Turbo Aero wheels, Jet Black Metallic, Black Leather, rear-axle steering, PTV+, ACC, HUD, PB+, 14 way seats.

Wanted to learn more about what to do next regarding PPF. Which one makes the car the easiest to keep clean?
Which one should I be looking to get to protect best?

Also, what are the best chargers to get? Is the Tesla home charger the best?

Congrats on the new Taycan. I hope it treats you well.
You said purchase, but I know you were also talking about a least earlier. If you leased it, not sure I'd bother with PPF, as normal chips shouldn't be a wear and tear item on a lease.

But if you own it, best to get it done right away. Talk to your dealer to see if they do it in house or who they use. The dealer where I got mine does xpel in house and it came with full front, rear sill, rock guards, door edges etc.

If you get a Tesla charger you will need an adapter from NACS to J1772. I don't know about the best, but I've been very happy with my GRIZZL-E charger and as they are made in Canada I would imagine you can find one. They have a variety of options for direct wire install or plug in.

I have the Tesla Universal charger and it comes with a NACS to J1772 adapter. The only downside is you can't separate the adapter from the NACS cable and take it with you. Upside is you can charge either a J1772 car or a Tesla. It is hardwire only.

I am leasing, but I think of it as buying it. I keep my cars very long typically and over that long period a lease+buyout vs buying for cash (loss of opportunity costs included), and especially vs. financing, comes out to $500 cheaper AND gives me the option to turn it down at lease end.

So it's really just the best way to buy for me.

My Taycan is our family's first EV. My wife probably won't get one for at least 3 years, maybe longer. I'm having an electrician run the installation from panel to garage. Should I have him run two lines now? if so, should I just get one EV charger for now or a Duo?

Also - I was going to at least do a PPF XPEL over the full front of the car in gloss; or, maybe do the entire car in matte black PPF.

Finally - do owners typically apply window tint to their Taycans?

Why 14 way the best instead of the 18-way? I definitely prefer 18-way which prevents me better sliding sidewards

Personal preference. 18-ways are a go to for me in the SUVs. However, 18-ways are too bulky in a narrow interior and since you sit so low with very little lateral movement, then I found 14-ways to be most optimal.

ok, never heard of a bulkier size. I thought the are same size. Th lateral support is amazing. For me a top option.

Of course, personal preference. I decided on 14-ways and Massage option was a bonus.
18-ways add a lot of upper lateral bulk (wide shoulder flares) that I did not like for the looks especially on the rear and I did not find it significant enough functionally to justify. However, I would choose 18-ways on the SUVs every time as they ride much higher and need that lateral support.

There is a lot going on here, the best support no question:

More streamlined to narrow interior if you line it up to the pillar with plenty of support where it is needed, which is below the shoulder line:

I've been considering getting an XPEL matte PPF over the whole car. Any concerns of going matte vs. glossy with the XPEL?

Also, I was going to get a magnetic plate holder instead of having them drill through my front bumper. Any suggestions on the best one?
