Digi Dash [unable to display on passenger display screen]

I have recently purchased a DIGI DASH which basically allows you to watch Netflex, Youtube etc in your car.

I have a passenger screen [which is the reason I brought it - kids!] but I cannot get the display to work on the passenger screen - only the main screen.

Also, I can only get it to load up on the main screen by selecting the 'digi dash' icon on the passenger screen via the device menu.
- otherwise, it just displays device loading and nothing happens.

I can see by the reviews on the 'digi dash' website that someone has it on their Taycan displaying on the main screen [but also appear to have a passenger screen] so would be interested to know if they or anybody else has managed to get the display working on their passenger screen?

If this is possible then this would help people out who want something displaying on the passenger screen whilst driving without a passenger

Sorry, not addressing your main query here as have no direct knowledge there, but was curious as to

1) how hot this device gets when/if stored in center console and
2) how well the phone/hot spot connection holds up i.e. presumably heavily signal dependent?

PS: I am able to easily have the main and passenger screen synchronously show my movies/music videos via a USB-C connected flash drive in my console so you'd think that theoretically this device ought to be able to port to the passenger screen too but may be that some protocols are being blocked or not supported.

I'm unable to get the passenger screen to display anything via the digi dash when plugged in.

If you plug a standard USB into the taycan with a movie file on you can display the content on the MAIN screen, BOTH screens or Just the passenger screen .... until you put it into DRIVE.

What I'm trying to achieve is the digi dash displacing on the passenger screen.
- digi dash will allow you to view content whilst driving!

Regarding your question's I haven't had the device plugged in long enough [no more than an hour at a time] whilst i was trying to solve the above issue ... if I can't get it working, I am sending it back.

if i DO get it working, i will come back to you with answers

Thx, yes entirely aware the driving limitations of USB stick media and recognized your device got past that, hence my interest - my point was simply that as there is clearly a way for external media to display on the PS via USB, it is odd that the Digi-Dash appears to block this i.e. hence the comment re a possible protocol setup issue on the DigiDash device.

Interested to see how you get on with this. My kids have been asking about video streaming and why the CT doesn't have it! I too have the passenger display so I'd love to know if you get it working on there.

Kufatek offers a software hack to allow the passenger screen to display video while in motion. About 300 euros.

Interesting, didn't even know this was possible. How does this work? What interface is used on the PCM to navigate the USB stick and play videos? What codecs are built into the car for video playback?

Basic info in the GTK app but some of that advice is out of date and incorrect re having for example to have your drive to be FAT formatted I.e. my Samsung 30Gb flash drive is OSX formatted and reads perfectly. Drive is plugged into usb-c port in center console.

This is a default option in the PCM - nothing addl required - in the media section you just go to USB input and select your vids from a list of readable files on your drive once plugged in - again only playable by default with car parked. Multiple codecs supported including mp4, mpg etc. I’d need to go back to give you a specific codec list but GTK app a good source.

Did you get it work in the end or did you send it back? I'm looking to get something similar and whilst there's a thread on one of the forums for a device from Ali Express I'd rather avoid buying from there. The Digidash seems to be a good, albeit expensive, alternative but I don't want to waste money if you've had a bad experience with it. Thanks.

Did you get the Digi Dash to work on the main screen though? Was it easy to set up and did it use it's own SIM card to get a signal?
