@PNWTaycan4S and @whitex - which DT locations have you used?
I have an appointment with Redmond this weekend, hopefully that's on the good list?

I've used them once before - they were fine, albeit well behind schedule - my usual location was the BelRed one, but they're too busy lately.
I've used the Northgate location and have had good results. I've used their online ordering and appointment scheduling.

Quite interesting that over the pond, you seem to have budget/mainstream place that take a bit of pride and thought into their work.

In the UK…….well, the concept of the cowboy may of originated over there but oh lawdy, the UK budget/non dealership tyre places has taken the ‘cowboy’ and completely reinvented it to a whole new level of bodgit-n-scarper and a unique dose of ‘you should be grateful I’m serving you’ demeanour.

To them it’s ALL about turn over targets, don’t give a dam about jack points or specified tyres, just get any on with ‘the more expensive the better’ as it helps with the sales targets. As to repeat customers…..nah, plenty more mugs out there to prey on.
Having lived "behind the curtain", in US and in Germany, I would agree service tends to be better (hesitant to make this broad statement without 1k disclaimers) over here - but it comes at a cost: most of these jobs do not pay enough in the US to cover small things like a decent wage or healthcare. I don't see this changing, either - it seems to be burnt into the psyche of the nations/population on either side of the pond.

OP let me know where you end up going and how it turns out. My time is also coming up and the first round I did it at the dealership, this time I plan on taking it to Discount Tire, Poway, Mira Mesa or Miramar road.
My car was already in getting serviced for a charging issue, so I asked about the tires and the dealer (San Diego) quoted less than Discount Tire. I didn't even present the DT quote

That's great to know, you are referring to price of the tire and the install being cheaper than discount tire?

I agree. Bunch of cowboys! Can’t find one decent around. There is always something wrong with what they do or do not do. To the point I take the wheels to the shop for tyres change and take the wheels home and swap them over by myself.
