I don't know how much of a conversation with an AI will come through with this link below. I am sharing it for those who might be interested in this problem.

https://www.perplexity.ai/search/5dd27e34-a1ac-4607-bc8c-ec234a2d76b0

Summary below:

I did some further testing over the weekend. Tesla has more modern chargers (SC4s) in Los Osos and Morro Bay. I tried the one in Los Osos and ran into the same "Unauthorized Vehicle" brick wall even though I could hear the 'pump' motor spin up.
However, their newest station in Morro Bay is one of their "Magic" charging stations. These only require an adapter and a Tesla account. You don't need to be an authorized vehicle. At the Morro Bay station I didn't have any problem charging my car. *** That's great news *** tempered only by the fact that these "Magic" stations are currently rare in California.
Anyway, I think my success in M.B. rules out some hardware problem with the Taycan's high-speed charger other than the possibility of some handshake issue that is as yet undiagnosed.
I put all these details to my AI and got the following:
"Putting your details against what other owners and dealers are seeing, the most likely explanation is:
• Your 2021 Taycan’s VIN/software combo does not fully match the current Tesla–Porsche authorization profile for SC3/SC4 non‑Magic‑Dock Superchargers, while some other Taycans (likely different trims/years or updated cars) do.
• At the “any EV” station, you’re going through a more permissive path that relies mainly on Tesla app session + generic non‑Tesla rules, so it works.
"In short, you’re hitting a narrow, implementation‑specific bug or gap in the Tesla–Porsche integration, not a general VIN database problem and not a user‑level mistake.
"The next high‑value move would be:
• Ask Porsche to confirm, in writing, whether your specific VIN and current software level are marked affirmatively as “Tesla Supercharger enabled” in their systems, and
• Ask Tesla charging support to pull one failed SC3/SC4 attempt by timestamp/stall and tell you the exact denial code and whether your VIN or vendor tag is flagged as “not authorized” for that stall type."

I never cease to be amazed at how AI is so impressive in so many contexts yet produces nonsensical gibberish in other contexts.

I assume this falls into the 'impressive' category? There is nothing inaccurate about the quoted sentence except it leaves out the fact that you also need an EV. :)

^ Even in just that one excerpt, the whole point of Magic Dock (not “Magic”) stations is that you do NOT bring your own adapter. (The rest of the AI summary reads like a lazy culling of online forums, Facebook groups, and Reddit threads.)

Ok, that's fair. In my case I did use my adapter and the AI may have picked up on that. Or got it wrong.

As far as the summary goes, I don't really agree. In fact, I passed the fairly well-organized summary on to my dealer who then became willing to inquire of Porsche as to whether my car's VIN is in the Porsche A-OK database. (No answer yet.)
