We just completed our first sizable roadtrip in our 2 month old Taycan RWD. It was a fantastic cruiser from Napa all the way down to LA and back via the 101 and 1.
Our experiences at 5 Electrify America stations were all fairly uneventful, well we at least got the charge we needed.
Two strange things happened on the last day.
1) I charged early in the morning at an EA station near Carmel and the charger cut out twice while charging so had to restart twice. I chalked it down to a bad EA charger. The outside air temp was about 63f by the ocean so pretty cool for July in California.
2) Later that day we stopped at our local EA charger after a heavy traffic-fueled 150 mile drive through the Bay Area. Again, the EA charger cut out, but this time I noticed the battery temp was very high - about 118f and very close to the little red line.
If the battery gets too hot, is it normal for the charging to cancel itself? Assuming it's a safety feature. It's just odd that it did it when we were in a cool environment too.
