Any one else having a problem charging their Taycan from a Zappi single phase 7 kW charging unit?

Error messages are
Waiting for EX
Restarting
Charging Delayed.

I've tried various options. Removing all timers/profiles on the car, trying Direct charging, configuring the earth options on the Zappi to IT, bit all to no avail.
Supply to house is 100amp, single phase.

The car charges fine on 13amp plug at home and AC and DC public points.

Any suggestions, greatly appreciated.

Have no advice to give other then I don't think earth should be IT outside of parts of Belgium and all of Norway.

I have been using a Zappi single phase 7 kW setup for my Taycan and Panamera for 3+ years with no issue – unit has been rock solid.

I find MyEnergi support to be good – so first port of call is to connect with them and they'll help you out.

Thanks both for the advice. Called MyEnergy today, they seem to be on the ball. Just wanted to check there were no odd settings on the Taycan that could have caused the problem.

Did they resolve the issue? What was the problem?

Not yet - they set me a myenergy hub just before Xmas to upgrade the zappi firmware. Made no difference, so I'll be back onto the support desk tomorrow.

Glad to hear it is resolved. Sorry what is the Grid CT? The Zappi side? Curious to know what specifically wasn’t setup? I have my Zappi install happening tomorrow so wanted to help the engineer if this happens.

Cheers!
Finally sorted - Grid CT not properly set-up at the time of installation. Excellent telephone support from the zappi technical team.

Its a sensor that is placed around the wire (or wires if 3-phase) at the point that the grid connection enters your property. It helps the Zappi to know how much you are importing from the grid in total and if it gets near your limits it will reduce the power going to the car so as not to blow your main fuse.

It has to be placed pointing in a specific direction of the current and has an arrow on the side of it to indicate this.

Shall we call it an 'installation oversight'. Only point to add is that you can avoid needing to use a grid sensor by configuring the zappi menu. Set CT1 to NONE instead GRID. This means the zappi is not monitoring the incoming current, so not recommended long-term, but at least you can get power in an emergency if the grid ct is faulty. This was suggested by the zappi support team.

Glad you got it sorted, I had been using my Zappi to charge my previous car (Tesla) with no issues at all. I like to have the Zappi decide when to charge by leaving it on ECO Plus and setting a boost timer on it to use the cheaper rate electricity (Octopus Energy) from 00:30 - 04:30.

With the Taycan I had initially set up a timer and profile...but found this was messing up things with the Zappi...so the actual solution for me is just to have a profile only with the charging level set at 85% running all day:

Porsche Taycan Zappi 7kW Charging Problem 1673261578347

This way works perfectly for me and allows the Zappi to charge from solar when available.
