Porsche Taycan Electrical system error. Park vehicle in a safe place. 97F174E9-7656-4536-813D-069D52AA2EF7
My car was bricked. Couldn’t put it in drive or reverse. The notification message gave me an option to call road assistance and showed my location and VIN number (that was pretty cool, very handy). They sent a flatbed, but after 10 minutes, I tried switching it on again and the message disappeared. I called to cancel the flatbed and drove directly to the dealership. At the dealership, they told me that they have seen a few of those lately, but haven’t been able to identify the root cause (no official notes from Porsche). They also told me that all those other cases solved by themselves after a few minutes. I still asked them to keep my car, run diagnosis, check for codes, etc. Will update soon.

Had the same thing happen to me this morning. Car was in the garage though and I had to get the kids to school. Locked the doors, left the Taycan, and took the kids in the truck. Hoping that when I get home at lunch the error is gone and we're back to normal.

Let us know what the dealer finds, if anything....

I had this a few times, sometimes whilst driving, sometimes when i turned the car on. Turning it on and off solved the problem but then it was part of a recall in 2021 which sorted it out.

Dealership states that the diagnosis didn’t throw any error codes, and that Porsche hasn’t issued any notes.

They told me that none of the other 2 vehicles that have reported the same issue had returned. I cannot say they didn't touch it because they washed it. I wish I could see a log somewhere.

I read someone's theory about having the key far away to allow the computer to go to sleep and reset... not my case. I was inside the vehicle all the time waiting for the tow (with the key in the cup holder). After 30 minutes, I tried to turn it on, and it worked.

I also read posts about the charger, and some about the main battery. I sincerely hope that these are all different issues, and that the red warning is some sort of lazy catch-all message used for many errors (Porsche is not great at building software).

Hard to trust this car now. The silver lining is that my wife won't take it because she feels it will break on her. Funny not funny.

This seems to happen too often and primarily in USA to my recollection.

There must be some root cause to explain this.

Happened to mine a week ago. It didn't reset this time and now the high voltage battery needs to be replaced.

I'm having the same problem on my Taycan Turbo 2020. Yesterday it started after few minutes but this morning I'm having the same problem permanently. Just called for towing.

Keep us updated on what they find, if anything. I had to have my taken to the dealer on Friday. It didn't reset. Haven't heard back with a diagnosis yet.

That's now 6 cars with high voltage battery replacement requirements reporting on the forum in just over a month. Feels a little less random than being unlucky.
