Geez, I would be happy to pay if I could find an EA charger that actually works. My local station with 4 units has at least two down all the time. They also have derated the chargers from a crappy 150kWh to 50kWh. What a joke.
I don't know about other folks but in the Northeast, the charging experience has deteriorated greatly since I purchased my Taycan in 5/21. Truth is - this car cannot be road tripped (unless you have much time to waste), thankfully I don't rely on it for road trips. If I downsize my current stable, no EV is in my future that is for certain.

The charger does support P&C as I’ve been using it exclusively since I bought the car (it’s a few blocks from my apartment). This issue came out of nowhere a couple weeks ago. I tried deselecting P&C and using the app. Still got the “server can’t be reached, authorization failed” error. Retried P&C and same result so I called EA. The rep said that they’ve been having issues with P&C with Porsche, Mercedes, and BMW lately and that they’re “working on it”. No idea what that means….but knowing that this isn’t an individual issue I may just be forced to wait it out as the problem is most likely not my car.

Still sucks though.

Completely understand. I had a kerfuffle a few weeks ago that had me stranded in backwater MD relying on an AC charger for 6 hours to get enough juice to crawl to an EA charger, where I was then waiting on hold for 45 minutes to get the darn thing started. But that’s a story for another time.
Me thinks this will be replaced with a gas car if this keeps up.

As my mother used to say "The bloom is off the rose". This is becoming an untenable situation and frankly, if "it keeps up", you won't be able to give these cars away.

If you can't get both P&C and app to provide you a charge, and you've tried both at more than one dispenser at more than one EA site, this not just a P&C issue, it is an issue with your Porsche charging service account (or, less likely, your car).
Don't rely on EA rep telling you it is widespread problem. When I had P&C problem and called EA, rep told me it was probably not my car. He was wrong.

How do you initiate a charging session from within the My Porsche app? Thanks
1. Click the "charger" icon on the map tab. Find your charger and tap the name/address.

2. Select the plug type, you want the 350kW CCS if available.

Thank you for your explanation of how to start a charging session from the My Porsche app. I have never been able to initiate a charging session through the app.

When I search for and locate the EA station on the map, it does not look like your picture, I see a red square that does not respond to my tapping on it. (See picture).

Do you have any suggestions on what I am doing wrong?

This is not intuitive, I agree.

Try tapping the black area on the bottom of the screen - the words “Electrify America Charging Station”, not the “send Destination” button.

I think the difference in the map waypoint has to do with available units, perhaps yours is fully booked at the moment?

Thank you for your reply. I have tried clicking the black "Electrify America charging station " area at the bottom of the screen but nothing happens. Also, I have tried with other EA charging stations, they all show the same red square and do not respond to taps.

I should add that my car is a MY20, and unfortunately does not have plug-in charge. But I don't think that is the reason that my app is not responding as it should.

In the other recommendations would be appreciated.

my 2020 Taycan Turbo does not have plug&charge - but I can use the Porsche app to start/stop charging sessions w/EA - I don't know the reason why the "chargers" icon is not displaying on your app - apologies.

Are there other brands of chargers in your area? I understand it wouldn’t be “free” but I don’t understand the logic of abandoning an otherwise outstanding driving vehicle to avert back to ICE. Do you have an arrangement where you’re going to be receiving free gasoline? Otherwise a charging session is cheaper than gas by $40-$80 per fill up depending on vehicle and where you live. Also EA won’t be free much longer for you anyway. Would you purchase an ICE vehicle with an agreement tha you can only buy gasoline from one vendor? Most likely not, that’s not convenient nor practical.
My advice- Charge the car where you can and enjoy. Life is too short to be stressed out about saving an occasional $30-$40 on a $100k+ car.
