I got my car back after the uPdate on Thursday… and went on a 900mi road trip over the next two days. No issues with Plug and Charge, but did need to press the “Continue” button on the EA screen for charging to start. No problem ending the charge using either the “Stop” button on the EA unit or pressing the button next to the Taycan’s charge port.

The main issue I had on my trip had nothing to do with the car, PCM, etc - It was Bolt owners camping on the 350kW units. #2 issue was that at some locations one of the 350kW units was out of order (which compounded issue #1).

The 350kW chargers appear to be much less reliable than 150kW units. Recently stopped by my local EA charging site to find a Bolt on a 350kW charger. There were plenty of 150kW units available at the time. The Bolt is the slowest charging EV currently on the market. I don't know why Bolt owners think they should grab a 350kW charger when their EV maxes out at 50kW.

I picked up my 2021 4S yesterday after update and drove straight to an EA charger by my home. I tried several chargers, and plug and charge would not connect. I had to call EA customer service and they got the charger going. I checked to see if Plug&Charge was selected in the PMC and it was on. This particular EA location had worked every time I tried it over the last year. However yesterday half their chargers were not available and out of order. The customer service person said they were having numerous problems with Plug&Charge and Taycans . I think I’ll wait a few days and go back and try again and if it fails try a different EA location before I start worrying!
I’ve got exactly the same problem.

Update last Friday and not working since - everything looks good but it doesn’t recognize the car anymore. Wants to me to pay by card or setup as an EA member

let’s post any fixes we find

I went back to my favorite EA Charger today to see if Plug&Charge would work and everything went well with no problems! I checked all the personal settings I had prior to the update and all were still there, even my Homelink worked. I would recommend to not be afraid to schedule the update. I think the new look displays are awesome but like anything when they move your cheese it can be a little frustrating to find it, but when you do it becomes second nature to use!
Did you do anything to get it working after the first failure

Did you do anything to get it working after the first failure or did it just start working again? Can’t decide which stranger to use here as EA and Porsche customer service were no use and I’m reluctant to lose the car to the dealer

I didn’t do anything different, I just had the time to check all my personal settings and spent some time hunting for things like radio favorites and made a test drive to check saved lift locations and things like homelink. I then went back to EA and Plug&Charge worked normally.

Hey, I picked up the car Tuesday, made sure the Plug and Charge option was selected, went directly to EA, and plug and charge didn’t work for the first time since we owned the car. I called EA and we were able to initiate a charge through the My Porsche App. I was transferred to Porsche Customer Service, and they walked me through this process…

1) they had me download the Porsche Charging Service app (Charging NA)
2) went to My Vehicle
3) disabled Plug and Charge by toggle
4) after 30 seconds, I enabled Plug and Charge by toggle
5) I waited to go back to EA until yesterday afternoon…Plug and Charge worked perfectly.

I hope this helps…

Is the name of the app you downloaded Porsche Connect? I don't see one called Porsche Charging Service.

I just spoke with EA and Porsche. It is a known issue and being worked on. If you get to a station and it won't charge just call EA and they will activate remotely.

Huge thank-you to @fusdoles for the simple trip to get Plug and Charge working again after the uPdate. No one at Porsche Online Service or my dealer knew about this so it proves once again how much this forum works for us all.

Reminder for anyone that If you have this problem just use the old Charging North America App to switch Plug and Charge Off and then On again with a minute or two in-between and it seems to reset something that means the EA chargers work again.

Will try this after disabling plug and charge only in the car for a few minutes and re-enabling it first... I do not want to download a sketchy (charging NA, 1k downloads, 1.6 star rating) looking app if I don't have to but glad to know there's another option. Hopefully Porsche does some better QA before their next software release so this doesn't continue to be a working/broken situation!

Running into an issue with my first EA charge attempt where there’s server errors any time I try to activate charging from the app. Enabling direct charging from the PCM and plugging directly in gets to the payment processing page but then says that payment processing failed (my card is fine). Been on phone with EA for 18 minutes now waiting for some resolution…
