Had an inexperienced bicyclist slamming straight into my opened driver's door + window on a London street, and my Taycan is now out of commission until the door (presumably) and window is replaced and they complete all related repairs. It appears that no other body section than the door has been damaged, at least to the visible eye.

The car is at a well-known UK bodyshop and I am still waiting to hear back from their assessor to start and send through the repair estimate to my insurer for approval.

Any guidance on how long this should reasonably take, assuming the bodyshop sends out their estimate in a timely manner + my insurer approves quickly (rep said typically within 24-48 hours if all is in order) would be very helpful.

Mine was in the Swindon DIck Lovett body shop for something a little worse, for a month.

Ours had very similar work done (door and trim replacement), took just over a month iirc here in the SF Bay Area.

Thanks, and this is in line with what I expected.

My vandalised Taycan took 6 weeks elapse for £29K damage. This included two replacement door frames, lots of other bits and most panels being refinished. Parts were all available essentially over night. However, no interior parts were needed. Did the cyclist damage the interior door panels? If you have an unusual interior finish, this may cause parts delivery delays.

Are you using a Porsche approved body shop to help with any future warrantee discussions with Porsche UK?

Ouch, hopefully it didn't affect your insurance premium too much.

There was no structural damage to the interior panels, though glass shatter damaged the leather on top panel (ie by window) so will need to be replaced too. Finish is one of the typical leather combinations, so hopefully no issues with part delays.

The car was directed to this bodyshop (HR Owen Bentley in London) by Porsche Assistance, so I presume it is Porsche approved.

Update:

Took well over one and a half month for repairs, final quality checks and delivery.

Designated central London workshop (HR Owen) was overall great to deal with, unfortunately with some big delays at Porsche West London who sat on car for well over two weeks for a job that should have taken 2-3 days.
