Fastned UK first experience - fail

Went of a tour from Scotland down to York and back.

Chose Gridserve at Moto Leaming bar services on the M1 to top up - great service, all you could wish for 240A/hr charge rate and accepted the Porsche card.

I then planned a stop at Hamilton 146 miles away to get me all the way to our destination and encountered a Fastned station - first time for me, just behind Aldi at the Hamilton services.

Porsche card not accepted - no problem wave my credit card and we are off 140A/hr, so not as good as Gridserve, but headed off for a coffee.

While drinking my coffee, I thought that my car had stopped updating the app for some reason, headed back to the car to find that I had a 74% charge and that was all Fastned would provide, tried unplugging and tapping my card again, but no go.

On reflection, I should have tried a second card so that I might be seen as a new customer.

All of this led to a further charge stop to reach my destination, complete pain in the derriere.

I only use fastned and ionity and find fastned really stable and well worth every penny. Never had issues and always had amazing charging speed. Could it be a one time / bad luck issue for you?

Same for me, good experiences with Fastned. Might be worth contacting their customer services/support. I did once to ask about Electroverse compatibility, they couldn’t have been more responsive and helpful.

Yep! Fastned in Germany and France are reliable as Ionity is. 3rd best brand to charge with after Ionity and Aral here.
