I've always been ga-ga about Porsches though since I was a kid and I had some family and friends' parents who had 911's. So I was hoping this could be "the one." We shall see! Nothing lost or gained yet!
Maybe not as dramatic as in this video but this popped up in my head when I read your posts. Same thing for me in this regard. It's time to fulfill your dream and electrify your soul.

Here is mine: December 2022 Deliveries coming soon

OMG I'm so sorry to ghost! I felt nauseous after my last post and lay down and woke up with a fever. Caught the virus my kids have been passing back and forth for weeks. The SA must be wondering what happened to me too. Ugh. Ok, getting this finalized!!

So last week I already told him I'm going for the rear axle steering as he confirmed what I test drove had it. It was wonderful, and I like to joke "I park like a girl" when I talk to car salespeople... throws them off :). But seriously, I loved how that felt changing lanes. So that's a done deal!

@Tooney Yes, when the SA went over the build I posted above originally, he noticed I had no tires selected and we opted for the all-season, of course. It must have deselected when I spent 10 hours playing with wheel combos heh.

And yep, also he helped me put that on board charger on. I knew I didn't know what I was doing there so left most of it blank. I will continue to research the setup while the car is in production, and am excited for the extra motivation to clean out the garage of baby toys.

And speaking of (no) babies... the 2+1 seats. I did go back and forth on this a lot after you guys mentioned it, and went through old threads and looked at lots of google images and whatnot. After giving it extra thought, I think I'm going to opt out of that. I don't think the tray in the middle looks bad. I have driven family trucksters with bench seats for so long, and my husband's Stinger can do 3 kids in the back if necessary. I still have the Pilot that folds flat to the front row, and we've hauled so much in there. I just kind of want the feel of a "2 in the front, 2 in the back" car for once. Ya know?

Now, the technology pkg I've also given more thought to, considering your comments. I DO want parking assist... see above comment :). Always wanted to try that out on a car. I have no interest in the passenger display, and I could take or leave the heads-up. My husband has it and likes it, I find it distracting. The only pro would be if I'm driving at night, if it shines light into my eyes that's a GOOD thing, as it helps my pupils constrict which helps with glare. The thing is, removing the package but keeping the stuff I do want only shaves off $690.

I want Parking Assist, Lane Keep (have it, love it), ACC a must, and LCA sounds cool. I know Innodrive is controversial, even the SA was like, uhhh seriously? As soon as my husband started driving he was over 100mph without even realizing it. I only realized it around 96mph. But that's not the only reason. I'm okay with stuff like this. And if I hate it, I turn it off. If I KNOW I want to add ALK to the ACC later, is it worth it to skip it right now? Is there any savings?

I know the crests on the headrests are cool and popular, but I feel like I can't see them when I'm in the car. I can see it on the center console :). It's different, I dunno. I'll give it a little more thought.

Thank you!!

Holy cow!! That was amazing!! Obviously not for the American market, but I totally get it and will watch it again at least once and show my husband, because so many nuances in there to take in. Thank you! Love that stuff. Gets me PUMPED! (But not at the pump!! Ha ha).

Ok I found the $24 a month each for ALK and InnoDrive or $956 each. So you save $352 if you buy them both up front with ACC. If I keep ALK (perm) and ditch InnoDrive, I've saved $604.

You'd have to put a gun to my head to get me to buy a vacation "package," but with the car... ugh. Don't hate me if I just keep the Tech package and call it a day :).

@annieland, our Taycan is my wife’s DD.

She’s not interested in “sporty driving”. She always keeps the car in “normal” and never accelerates in a manner that I would consider aggressive.
She likes the car for other reasons. She like the way it looks, that it handles well/accelerate well (more about the precision, and much better than her old Panamera), things like massaging seats, and not having to go to a gas station. Some other cars tick a lot of those boxes (and maybe some individual boxes better), but not all of them. It’s the best overall car for her.

And it’s been mostly trouble-free for us.

It’s not the right car for everyone though, so do spend time with it and make sure it’s the right car for you. But that’s all you have to worry about. The car can be different things to different people.
Yep, you've pretty much described me, even more so now that I've driven it for a bit. I was on a high the rest of the day. I've dreamed about this car for well over a year, and then life happens and it goes on the back burner, but then it's a nice day and I'm out and about in a great mood and I swing over the dealer and say take my money and put me on the list. I'm ready. My intuition is usually dead on (except for the Toyota Solara), and I just knew this was the Porsche for me when I first saw it. I'd say I'm not one who likes to turn heads, but then, I forget I have pink/purple/blue ombre hair. Go figure!

Happy to hear your wife is enjoying the car!!

I’m happy to hear that you loved driving the Taycan. I’ve had mine for over 8 months and it brings a smile to my face every single time I drive it. Congrats on putting in your order.

Sounds like you’re doing your research and about to fulfill a life-long dream of both building and owning a Porsche

I think you are making a solid decision on adding the Rear Axle Steering. The Taycan is a big, long and heavy car and the rear steering changes the handling dynamics and makes the car drive and feel much smaller. Of course color is subjective and I applaud you willingness to build the car exactly to your specification.

Now, what I think is missing. Personally, I would not own a Porsche without a full leather interior. It transforms the look, feel and frankly the smell of the car. You spend all of your time inside of the cockpit, full leather really improves the experience. I have the technology package in my 2022 Cross Turismo 4S and love the look of the passenger display and of course the self-parking and added technology. I am also an audiophile and have the Burmeister sound system in my car. Never optioned Burmeister before (owned 9 Porsches) but damn does is sound great in the Taycan.

My general school of thought is that the only option you regret is the one you did not get. Best of luck and enjoy the process and ownership experience!

Isn't the Blackberry full leather? I'm definitely 100% pro-leather, but I can't add every other leather option they give, with all the different trimming. Wherever it is reasonable to have leather I do, plus the wood trim, because I too love the feel of a "rich" interior.

Burmeister must be incredible, I've heard nothing but raves about it. Since this is my first Porsche, perhaps I'll have to add it to my 7th or 8th :).

Thank you so much for your kind words! It really is exciting and I'm learning so much more every day.

Apologies, just looked at you build code again and you are correct, BlackBerry is full leather. You have checked that box!

Not really sure about the Porsche Intelligent Range Manager, it's function on demand, so you could always give it a try and put the money towards RWS/RAS maybe?

For the rest, love the spec. The wood's not for me, but glad you like it.

I did add RAS :) I updated my top post with the final build, after giving consideration to everyone's feedback here.

I know wood is old timey, but my style preference is always a bizarre combo of futuristic and funky, yet nostalgic. If there a wood option steering wheel... or ANY car with a nice wood steering wheel, I'd be all over it. It's the cars I oogled when I was a kid. Some people call them collector's items now I think... hehe.

Mom in Michigan, finally want my "dream car" so I'm just going for it before age 50 rolls around. I don't do a ton of driving, just zipping around town here and there. Big trips would be in the Honda Pilot. Mostly open flat roads here in the suburbs, highways, some downtown congestion. Snow in the winter, hot humid summers, etc. I don't do any fancy or sporty driving, I'm all about safety, visibility, and technology. I like a comfortable car that is practical and fun! Here's my link with some comments to follow:
This did not age well.

I love wood too.
About 400 billion times more suitable for embellishment than carbon fibre IMHO. ;)
I don’t like wood much actually but I still agree it’s 400 billion times better than CF!
Sounding a bit like Prof Brian Cox,
‘It’s a billion, billion, billion…….’
