So, having ordered my CT4S in December 2021 I sat back happy in the knowledge that my new pride and joy would arrive in August the next year. A bit of a wait but, all good things come to those that wait. Then, the proverbial hit the fan. Chip shortages, an indecent invasion of a neighbour and a factory fire created a production and delivery nightmare. August passed by and so did September, October then, a build date appeared and the excitement rose again. Finally, December brought one of the best automotive presents I could have had and the car was on its way from Stuttgart to Belfast!
However, work then decided it wanted in on the delay action and I found myself moving delivery to 13 February. Yep, yesterday and what a great day it was. I chose a morning collection and the car was presented in all its glory. The delay had allowed the detailer to complete the PPF and ceramic and I was greeted by the most glorious Gentian Blue Taycan:
I spent the next 2+ hours being talked through the various functions and settings but, I'd spent so much time on the Good to Know, My Porsche and here that, it almost felt intuitive as I set the seat memory, laid out the screens as wanted etc. Ultimately, all I was itching to do was get the car out on to the road but the handover wasn't yet complete.
Young James McLaughlin, my SA, had a few final gifts in store for me:
A thoroughly enjoyable and memorable day created by the arrival of my 'long' awaited Taycan and the outstanding efforts of James and Porsche Belfast.
