Not been on it for a while, so prolly old news (apologise in advance) ....... but the Porsche Germany configurator looks very different to others - It still has same options as far as I can see - but different lay-out and structures etc.

Will the rest of us see it rolled out?

Maybe they could provide us with a configurator to let us choose the configuration of the configurator.
Either that or hire a Configuration Manager to help them get a grip and stop wasting effort on redundancy and inconsistency
That said- although unfamiliar, I do prefer some of the German version's approach.

I just played with it, nice to see some graphics above each option. I notice that Burmester is not available, why is that?

PTS can only be specced at an OPC but offers 169 colours?

I think from memory - that is way more colours than the present UK/USA configurator offers?

This configurator has been available for a long time for all locales. Here's the US English one: https://configurator.porsche.com/en-US/model/Y1BFC1

This is made for large showroom and expo displays, think TV-size touchscreens. It focuses on the visual options and is less convenient / more work on desktop computers if you know what you want.

If you want to try a crappie configurator try the Mercedes version. If you can find it? I wanted to configure e a EQE AMG and even with some “chat help” sending a link, I just gave up. Maybe the Porsche (any version) is still the best at getting you to spend extra money?

This update has been around for a while but not on the UK configurator. Unless it has been withdrawn (I've just checked and it has), if you go to the Taycan pages of the Porsche website, select a variant then you get to the new layout.

Not sure why they have taken it down now.

This type of configurator is fairly common - rest of VAG, MB use a similar layout. I kinda like the Mercedes, as it's simple/shallow. They don't do a million permutations, though, so yes, Porsche is the best at extor^H extracting the most out of the user - but it's simply because almost nothing is standard/included.
