Has anybody’s GTS ST “locked” for production?

Too early for me. I want a MY23 so have scheduled a Nov22 delivery. Sales guy says I'm on target which hopefully is good enough.

When it happens, I’m hoping someone will post on here. However, it does appear that even those of us who are supposedly near or at the top of their dealer’s list are still in the dark about their orders in terms of lock dates, delivery dates etc. It seems as though the dealers are being told nothing either.

Agree. Still no news here either and dealer doesn't seem to have any updates, nor have they received their demo car. I'm no. 3 for reference...

The good thing is that we are all in the same boat. However once I’d had the invite to PEC Silverstone and now that dealers are getting their demonstrators, I had expected there to be some definitive progress.

Given that orders for saloons do appear to be progressing, it doesn’t seem like ‘conductors/chips’ are the hold-up, so it is not clear why our cars cannot be built.

You'd think, with modern production processes, that the system for getting orders in the queue could be fully automated once a dealer presses "send" with your build code, and a decent ball park figure for locking spec and delivery (+/- a couple of months) could be given almost immediately.

I guess what that doesn't allow for is any "special treatment" that might be required (press cars, special customer cars etc), and may need to be chunked down a bit (body style, general model).

And then if any issues happen, ripple communications through to everyone further down the chain or the particular order(s) that problems have hit.

Ultimately, though, We're talking about a car that has a lot of orders, and that everyone is lauding. Anyone ordering on that basis with a "must have" delivery date is nuts. A mate of mine hasn't bothered due to the length of wait. I take the view that it's a serious amount of money to spend on a car, so it's more important to buy the right one, even if that involves a wait.

When I spoke to my local dealer a couple of weeks ago he noted they had something like 15 deposits in, and that if I ordered a car he would, with a fair wind, expect to be able to get delivery this year....but that expecting a 12mth ish lead would probably be wiser from an expectation setting perspective.

I've handed over my deposit and initial view on build spec....what I'm now really keen to do is to get an extended test in a GTS around the roads where I live. From watching more and more videos, I'm having a slight wobble over whether the CT might be a better bet, for my use, than a GTS. But for now, the latter it is

Let's be honest, you really 'want' a GTS and will probably try and convince yourself of its advantages and that you can live with any shortcomings compared to the 4S CT

Agreed. But another problem is that the wait for new CTs is even longer than for GTS ST (at least at my local dealer) for to do many orders in before my ST order. I had thought about jumping to Turbo CT for ride height etc.... But again for now we wait!

That is a fairly accurate assessment sidicks

What I was doing last night, in mitigation of the GTS being too low/hard, is man maths on a Turbo CT to as similar a spec to the GTS as possible.

Being sensible I dismissed the TurboS

I've also been having a cursory look at lightly used demonstrators....there's a GTS saloon available for Aug/Sept. Though having noted to my OH that the extra practicality of an ST was preferred, that avenue may be closed...

I was told that it was logical to expect the factory to focus on the GTS this year, and so it may be possible to get one quicker than other models.

We'll see. What I'm trying to (and failing at present) is to forget I've submitted an order.

I would be sceptical of that (sorry) given they’ve launched Sport Turismo variants pretty much across the range. Production capability hasn’t magically been increased overnight and so they’ll be attempting to satisfy orders across all variants and supply will continue to be tight regardless of model chosen.

I ordered a GTS ST on 5th January, and got told delivery if I was lucky would be q4 but most likely 2023 as I was 8th in the queue, so I changed to a 4S ST when they were released and have got a March build slot.

Similar situation to me, I was way down the queue for a GTS but switched to a Turbo ST and build complete is now expected end of April
