When mine packed up last spring, Porsche advised me to use their recovery service, since they considered it unsafe to drive with misted up windscreen. As a bonus a recovered car will also get a quicker response at the workshop, compared to book the car in yourself!
I also think I will have them pick its up at home. It's a 35 minute drive on the highway. It's parked inside but I don't want to be stranded with fogged windows along the highway. It's around freezing temperatures and wet. I don't know how long it would take for the windows to get fogged if they are not when I leave.

And the quicker response is also welcome because I need it working in 3 weeks (or a good alternative). Did you get a loaner when they picked it up ?

Well actually I would like them to fix mine in time. I have 6,5 K winter wheels (Ok also useful in our current wetter at home but not sure if really necessary with winter getting less cold) and 600 euro snow chains (I have 5 unused pairs of pas cars, never used them but needed to drive in the alps).

Yes I was offered to get a hire car! Not a loaner from Porsche but a Ford Puma rental car, which I had to collect from the airport in Nice!! Not a very good service so I declined the offer.

My 4S heater has gone again - second one in 12 months and roughly failed at same time of year suggesting to me that some of these heater elements have a short life span.

Ive been using the heater for a few months here in the UK but as our first drop of snow arrives this week the damn thing has blown again

Very disappointing

Still waiting for a delivery date for the replacement but will lose one month of usage

Just checked. I have the same message.

My car is parked inside. I think it might be ok to drive 30 km to Gent to the dealer. I don’t have much spare time however and certainly not during working hours. I hope they can pick it up at and leave me a decent replacement at home.
Does the warranty not cover towing the car if the heater is out in the middle of winter, making driving it a potential safety issue?

Yes had a call from my dealer first thing in the morning. Advised to call Porsche Asstance. Which I did. They will pick it up in 2-3 hours and leave a loaner. Wonder what it will be. They give a car for 5 days. That’s why I only called today. Didn’t need the other one during the weekend.

Update: they collected my Taycan and gave me a BMW 5 series. Which is ok. They are doing the diagnosis and will be back. So far happy with the way they handle things.

Another message from the dealer. Based on my description of the problem and the picture of the error message on pcm they already ordered the parts this morning. And they will also try to fix the comfor acces problem in the same time. Great service so far.

Sorry I didn’t reply sooner as to the question of if they had to drain coolant. Yes, in the work order there is a line item for “Coolant drained and filled”

No “cause”. As seen in this thread the high voltage heater seems to be a common failure point with Taycans.

Took my Taycan to dealer today for service for "no heating" and "precool/heat = system error". Service advisor said he has fielded quite a number of calls recently from Taycan owners reporting no heating. He is speculating/optimistic that this is a software issue - not a parts issue - since his callers all had not had the big uPdate installed yet. It would be nice if he is correct. I'm doubtful.
(It was a chilly 90-minute drive at 35 F/1.7 C but windshield did not fog up.)

Edited to add: Dealer service confirmed the high-voltage electric in-line heater needs to be replaced.

I had my update 5 days before my heater stopped working. So it had the latest software. I afraid your service advisor is wrong. But who knows.

The service guy at the dealer said that he was pretty certain the HV heater was broken because they already had quite a few of those.

They even had already ordered the parts directly this morning after reading my mail before my car arrived at the dealership to diagnose what is wrong.

I've realised the heater on my CT also isn't working, i'm not sure when it died as it's only recently got cold enough for me to notice it wasn't working.

I'm currently waiting for Porsche assist to collect the car.

At the moment my 2022 - delivered 12 months ago - no hot air in cabin, precool/heat function not available with PCM message "precool/heat: system error". Will take to dealer next week.
P**s poor reliability.
The heater worked fine yesterday. Woke up this morning, without a Notice that the Car temperature had been conditioned to 21C. Thought it was strange. Drove around Collingwood for a few errands and No Heat at all. Tried shutting on and off etc. On the Porsche App, it shows that Climate Function Currently unavailable. First time for that. Was taking the car to my Dealer next week for the Inspection after logging over 5000 km to Treasure Island Florida and back. It worked on that drive. Sounds like the High Voltage Heater Core as others have written. Just waiting for my Service Rep to call me back. Booked for 8 am tomorrow.

Had an update today. It was confirmed the HV heater was broken.

Parts arrived and are being installed. Should be able to collect tomorrow.

If all goes well it was been taken care of without to much trouble. Taycan picked up at home on Monday and I have been driving around with a 5 series touring they provided.

Glad it happened now and not when on holidays. I hope it doesn’t happen again.

I rang Porsche last night as had put car on pre conditioning, heating & all it did was make interior more colder than outside.
AA just collected the car & the recovery driver told me that it is the fourth one this week with the same issue.
Collecting hire vehicle via Porsche through Enterprise today. Enterprise told me they inundated with Taycan drivers.
Feel that Porsche should do a recall as this unacceptable.
Thanks.

Porsche's first EV, perhaps they are learning about electric heaters. I wonder if later models have an improved design, or is this only the first wave so Porsche is still learning.
