Same here... It turns ON once inside the car and door closed.

I am looking for an option to disable the same (jut want a choice !)

I have comfort access, and usually the car turns on when I sit down in it with the key fob, but not always! For some reason about 20% of the time it just sits there and forces me to manually turn on the car. Pretty annoying. Seemingly very random. Does anyone have any suggestions about how I can make this work better?
The other annoying thing is how it always reverts to the music on my phone when I get in the car. I want to have it default to satellite radio but that does not seem to be an option anywhere! Can Porsche really be this lame?

I have noticed that the car won't start up by itself when I close the door under two scenarios:

if I turned it on and off manually before (like of I'm leaving the car, have the door already open but for some reason tap the start button to check something and then tap and hold the button to shutdown. Next time I enter the car, it won't turn on by itself. I have to tap the start button)

If I return very quickly to the car like just a couple of minutes then sometimes the car won't power on by itself. I suspect the shutdown procedure is still running or something and the car won't do the auto start.


I feel its very similar to making calls in the car. When you hang up a phone call, tapping the call symbol immediately again to make another call doesn't work. It needs a 10 second timeout before the button works again to make the next call.

Auto power on observations - this is normal.

Radio - as long as you have logged into the PCM with your Porsche Connect ID associated with your key then the media setting last used should automatically be recalled. If you were listening to the radio when you powered off then this will be recalled next power on or unlock power on.

I agree with this.
I listen to Internet radio all the time and my car always starts with the station I was listening to when I exited the car.

There was always an issue that apple CarPlay would automatically take over as the music source, whatever source you'd been using on the previous drive. Pretty sure this was an apple thing, not a Porsche thing as it did it on my other car too. It has now been 'fixed', i assume by an apple software release. Now my car's audio source remains what i'd previously been doing.

If you've got a samsung then ?‍.

Pre this fix, a good work around was to set your steering wheel diamond to move to next audio source. you need to rearrange the order of the audio sources in the PCM, so that your satellite option is the next one after the source your car is defaulting to. at least then you just thumb the diamond rather than fiddling abut with the radio etc. There's another thread form about 9 months ago (i guess) with the info on how to do it.

I've had the same problem with auto-on. As for reverting to phone audio, that's how my car worked for the first couple of months, then suddenly it started remembering my audio source, then earlier today it remembered, then about a minute into the drive (probably Carplay connect time) it went back to phone for source :-( Similar inconsistency issue with door handles unlocking the car, sometimes they do, sometimes they don't, yet other times they will re-lock the car. The car will also occasionally unlock itself after I lock it - takes between 1 and ~30 retries to eventually lock it. The Phone app usually works, but often when I travel it locks me out saying the car is in privacy mode (even though it is not) and that takes overnight to clear - this is really annoying when I travel in the Taycan. Porsche software seems to still be in demo-ware stage, works well enough to demo to the media or executives.

Mine was fixed until today. The Taycan was parked for a few days while I travelled, perhaps it updated, or maybe the iPhone updated.

You can do it individual mode only and save it. Sports and sports plus have the electric sport sound. Normal requires it to be turned on.

I don't hate dealers, just aware any problem without a consistent repro is likely not to be addressable by the dealer (they will keep it for a while and return it), but it can become a source of more issues from possibly taking things apart, replacing pieces hoping things will work. If I get a reasonably consistent repro, I will take it in.

I gave up on the app telling me windows are closed. I don't think your sampling theory is correct because I've gone for many days without opening the rear doors, yet app still says the rear windows are open a large percentage of time I look. I've essentially limited my app usage to checking battery SoC and to pre-condition the cabin, but even that is not reliable, and usually craps out when I travel with the car, which is when I need it the most (e.g. coming back from a hike on a hot day, pre-cool the car, but nope, app says car is in privacy mode, I get into the car, it's not, the app stays in that state for a few hours).

My Sport does not have sport sound on (which is the way I prefer it, I wish I could disable it from Sport Plus so I don't have to use Individual to be essentially SportPlus minus the sport sound).

Nah, I think it's a security issue. Instead of assuming everything is ok while the app waits for the car's response (or better app → porsche server → car → porsche server → app), it assumes everything is wrong until confirmation. That's why it "assumes" windows are down or car is unlocked when you open the app and after a few seconds when the green dot appears, everything is cleared. Developers basically wanted to make sure (or protect porsche legally) that no user would get a "everything is ok" if the app can't get a response from the porsche servers.

But can I Turn it off permanently on sports plus too? (IMO it is dreadful)
