I purchased mine at a discount, out of state, with a 3 month wait from order to delivery. This was back in the middle of the pandemic when allocations were taking 12 months and markups from 5-15k over. So I feel like I stole it… Totally different situation from today obvs.

Saw a Taycan Turbo S parked on the street in Key West. Sort of fell in love. Had a Tesla Model 3 performance and eventually began to resent the half-ass customer service and the entire Cult of Elon. It irritated me that I was playing a small role in making him rich while he clearly didn't give a shit about improving the Tesla cars or the customer experience. Buying a Taycan was the easy next step for me. I watched AutoTrader like a hawk and pounced when I saw a good deal.

After test driving several cars, I used Turo and rented a Taycan for three days in Nashville in mid-January 2022.

That's all it took.

I designed and ordered my 2022 RWD about 10 days later, and I collected it on June 11, 2022.

I fell in love with the Taycan after I got to drive a 4S loaner for the day while my Cayenne was in service. Then a deal came on a pre owned one, and the dealer gave me more for my Cayenne than I expected (or was worth), and haven’t looked back since.
