How do I know if I have RAS?

Hi all
I paid for rear axle steering, but when I drive slowly around my drive, the rear wheels don't appear to turn. How would I know if the option is on my car?

Did you spec the car? Check your build sheet. Monroney label is available on your MyPorsche account or use VIN analytics. Or just look at the rear suspension.

The turning circle is 11.2m with RAS. You could check it directly

Go into a tight car park, go down the most narrow isle, then try to turn around. If you've been driving for awhile, it should be obvious to you that the turning radius is tighter than your intuition would have you expect. It's not scientific nor empirical. But it's obvious to me that it is working on that basis alone.

Thanks but I can't see that option on myporsche. Is a monroney label an American thing? I can see a vin number and the spec that I chose, though that's not a guarantee of what is actually on the car.

Ah, this old chestnut. After taking delivery I said I regretted not specing RAS but with the number of people who’ve speced it not even sure they have it maybe I’m not missing out all that much

I don't think it's on the MyPorsche app. There's a difference between the Porsche Portal and the MyPorsche app. My Porsche USA Portal's login screen looks like this:

Monroney labels are US law. I'm not sure about what you have in Scotland.

Thanks, though the my porsche website doesn't have that in it for UK, unfortunately. I think I'll have to physically test it myself - thanks for your help though!

I bet the OP has got it if he specced it. I think the amount of turn on the rear wheels is minimal.

I am sure someone can confirm the amount, but I doubt its visible to the naked eye.

No one mentioned this, but the lines in the on screen display that appear when you are maneuvering slowly don't change between RAS and non-RAS equipped cars. In my driveway, I have to turn my steering wheel all the way to one direction to get the lines to show that I will miss a car that is usually parked in front of me. I do this when I am about 15 feet away. As I start to move (and as I approach the projected spot), it becomes very clear that I will miss the car by substantially more than projected. I have always thought that this was from the impact of RAS, since this has not been the behavior of other cars that I have had. Happy to be wrong about this, so I would be interested in hearing the experience of others who don't have RAS.

It’s the single greatest option that people can’t tell whether not they have.

Go to vinanalytics and type in your VIN. you should be able to get your options there.
