How long does the keyfob battery typically last?

How long does the keyfob battery typically last? When I got my car, I used to get the "keyfob not detected" warning so replaced the batteries about 3-4 months back. The warning didnt happen after that, though it has now happened twice in the last 2 weeks. I am wondering if the battery is out again or the keyfob itself is faulty and needs replacement.

I replaced the battery about two weeks ago…so from mid September 2021 -end of January 2023.

Mine lasted about 9 months. That was without comfort entry

15 months for me. When I got the "keyfob not detected" warning with one of the keyfobs, I changed the battery on both keyfobs.

Both keys still working fine at 14.5 months (with comfort access).

Based on other response I guess I need to keep an eye out though - prob better to be pre-emptive!

Mine lasted 3 months after new. Replacement battery lasted 15 months before “replace battery” notification came up last week.

Same for me. Got the warning and replaced both batteries on both fobs. No more error messages.

Keep your fob away from the car when not in use. If the fob is flashing then it is too close and will be draining your battery.

I keep the fobs in a faraday box so hopefully that takes care of not draining the batteries.
