This pollen filter looks different from the cabin air filter

That isn’t the actual photo. From that page- “File photo shown.”

If you order the filter, you will get the same one as shown in this thread that goes under your glove box.

Some Porsche’s (like the 911) have two filters. We have just the one.

The Porsche riverside site is a typo. Below they state: “Porsche Taycan models require routine maintenance every 2 years or 20,000 miles.

During your routine service visit, we replace your cabin air filter to ensure you and your passenger always breathe fresh air while cruising in your Taycan. We also flush and replace your brake fluid, which maintains your stopping distance.”

lol, this is why you can’t trust everything you see on the internet. I asked Google AI “how many filters does the Taycan have?” And I got this response:

Key Filters & Maintenance:
  • Cabin Air Filter (Pollen Filter): This is the most critical filter for regular service, removing dust, pollen, and pollutants from the air entering the cabin.
  • Engine Air Filter: While EVs don't have a traditional internal combustion engine, they still have air intakes, and this filter protects components from debris, though less emphasized than the cabin filter. 😂😂

@questionmillennium, I stand corrected, my apologies. I see where the confusion is coming from. I would not trust a dealer site, but I do trust SunCoast. They do have a disclaimer "File Photo shown" but it is not something you can easily detect and realize that the picture does not look like the actual filter, which is exactly what @69Mach390 is pointing out. This is the only filter that falls into a replaceable category.

Perfect. That’s all I needed to know. I tried to get info in the owners manual via the app, but I couldn’t find anything about filters.

No worries! Thanks for your input. I wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing anything.

+1 also replaced today. Went with the $15 Amazon filter. I was amazed it fit in. I love saving $1185.

Let me see if I understand this:

  • Porsche dealers want to charge $1200 to change this filter?
  • Porsche dealers will only charge $180 to turn off a light saying a filter change needs to done?
  • Porsche says they can void the full vehicle warranty, in some jusrisdictions, if someone doesn't replace an HVAC filter?

No that is not true. Filter Replacement runs about $300 but would be based on the dealer hourly rate. They would sell OEM filter for $90 and charge .75 hour of labor at $210. I get 2x filters for $30 that are superior to OEM and it takes me 10 minutes to do it. My dealer is ok resetting the reminder, by me showing proof of purchase. I have a really nice dealer so I can do that but not all may do that.

I finally got around to replacing this today. As long as you are able to contort your body in the passenger foot well, you should be able to DIY using the posted instructions. Most difficult part was getting the plastic screws aligned back into the original holes. I was unable to, but my car is going in for the heater replacement, so I'm going to ask them to put it back in for me (it's very likely the entire console is coming back out anyways).

My filter was gross. Completely black, with some bugs. 15k miles

Exactly my point, get 2 of them for $31 and replace every 6k miles or every 6 months or you are breathing mold.
