Is my maximum battery range (198 miles) normal ?

Hi all can anyone tell me if the maximum range Iam getting (198) on new cross turismo is normal .Ive been told off the dealer that it will improve after a 1000 miles . Any thoughts appreciate.

Yes it is normal. It will get better in spring when temperatures are rising and you put on summer tires.

Depends. That’s not bad as weather is cold and you get NO regen braking until brakes bed in at 1000 miles-ISH which is what the dealer is referring to.
Also depends on the model and wheels.
200 miles on a Turbo or Turbo S with some 21” gangster wheels is excellent in winter.
If it’s 200 on a 4 or 4S with 19” wheels then that’s poor.
For 20” inch wheels that’s ok ish.

I had a 4S with 20” Turbo Aero wheels and manual charge ports so all aero benefits that could comfortably do 300 miles in summer and 250 winter.
My new GTS with the gorgeous 21” RS Spyders (had to) gets NOWHERE near that. 250 summer. 200 winter.
And that’s with the better software for supposed 10% improvement.
Big wheels look cool but screw the range. It’s why all the 21”s are not aero.
No point. Porsche did all the wind tunnel perfections with 19 and 20 wheels.

Also depends on type of driving - inner city winter 200 is good for me on big battery after 9k miles - long drive in summer can go 300+

That's were I started 2 years ago and then hit the dizzy heights of 248.

Odd things can and do happen but keep an eye remembering that cold ambients reduce reported range and warmer ones increase range.

Overall do not expect anywhere near the WLTP figures as these are based on useless laboratory tests.

I get exactly the same. But I don’t baby the car. I drive it like a Porsche. I am also in Germany now so doing 180-200 km/h quite often. Weeeeeee…

You can technically get 19.7kW/100km under good conditions if you drive it in a boring way.

I am just crossing 600 miles on my car.
My full charge now is about 225 miles.

Also I think the rage on Taycan is more reliable then on Tesla. The number is more solid.

That number is a little low unless it has been brutally cold where you are. Too early to be concerned though.

Preheating also has a huge effect. The battery uses 2-3 kws to heat itself up from -10 to +10 so if you jump in a car at -10 and do short journeys of under 5 miles you can get the range down to 100 miles.

I also found out that winter temps have more impact on higher consumprion than 21”wheels.

I drive like a maniac and my consumption is 29kW/100km after 8000km. On an average temp. of 4C. Real world range 285km approx. we will see in the summer. I bought a Porsche not a Dacia so I drive it like one.

I picked up my taycan 4ct start of December. I'm only getting 200 miles on the bigger battery that's standard in this vehicle.
I'm a bit disappointed with the range, after watching loads of videos on YouTube with people getting 250 to 300.
